Great !!!! i know how to spend my sunday afternoon tomorrow

i will read all the documents, but to everyone have already done the update, this update all the banks (overwritten 1.2 sounds) or just load the still empty banks?

i have to selct load all correct? also new samples are loaded or noly new program and combi?

existing factory sample remains? i.e. all existing sounds are safe?

It overwrite banks (the 512 new previous sounds) are lost (substituted) and also many other sounds have changed: BE SURE TO MAKE A COPY OF THE PREVIOUS SOUNDS BEFORE UPDATING!

Yes, do a total backup......even the existing factory sounds. If you have EVERTHING backed up (including custom programs & combis), you'll be safe.

Yes, however I've found that the most of the sounds (all?) are here, but they are reorganized, so your own combis based on factory programs will sound wrong, but I think it's possible to "simply" remap them to the new programs locations. I hope at least..

Can someone of Korg confirm this? Anyway, I've found all the sounds I was afraid to have lost, so I'm confident that more or less all the previous sounds are here, except some updated one.

Anyway, with OS 2.0 we can say that M3 is truly a winner, without any doubt.

I'm sorry, I really should know this after owning the M3 for a year...

But is there absolutely no librarian functions in the editor? I figured that now that my songs and combis need reprogramming anyways, I might as well remove some of the sounds I know I'll never use to "compact" the sound banks and make room for more user programs.

In the Radias editor, I would just select programs and move them around in their banks to organize my programs. Isn't this possible in the M3 editor? If it is, how do I do it?

All the sounds from the original 512 programs and 384 Combis are still there (with only the acousitc piano Programs modified to suit the new PCM)?

All the 512 SuperCharged Programs are in there as well.

And some new Programs have been added.

The only issue for you to be careful about is any new Programs you made for yourself or bought from any 3rd-party vendors. And any Combis you made or bought. They would all have to be revised to reference the new Program order.

Jerry, brand new units should than be shipped with OS2, including initial release programs, Supercharge pack and I suppose some USB stick with EXP 1, 2 and 3? More than 1024 programs in total?

Is this correct?

If that's the case, when can we expect such units to arrive at stores?

That is the plan, but it will take some time, and will vary from country to country. Check with your local Distributor to find out their timetable.

Korg Inc. is supplying us with the pre-loaded USB sticks but they are not ready yet. So we could have waited to release the update via the web until that was ready to go, but we decided to deliver it now and give you the present sooner.

Piano Roll is very Cool!!
KORG was a little late putting Piano Roll into M3, because today, almost every musician uses software sequencers (Cubase, Sonar, Logic, ProTools, DP etc...).
they should have done it during Triton series,
or at least when they launched an OASYS.
(a workstation like OASYS should be more powerful, at least as PC/MAC,
it needs PianoRoll, Wave editors, elastic audio and much more.
it's great Karma Performance tool, but very bad WORKSTATION, even arranger keyboards are more powerful WORKSTATIONS than OASYS)
