Unless I'm missing something, nowhere on the Help file, User Agreement nor your web page is any mention of the registering process, cost, etc.
When you click on the Buy Now button your taken to a page with a Donation Paypal button that's for $25 ( I think it was)

Hi Babosh,

I will buy it when the development is complete, so long as the functionality I requested in points b) to h) is present. If you want forum members to try it and test it in a part developed state, and provide feedback etc, you cannot also expect us to provide payment at this stage.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

I respect your idea of getting the software when it is fully read, actually I am not forcing anyone to buy it.

fyi: points d,e,f are already in, the only difficult part is h

Concerning the price, please read my third reply in this post:

Mrniceneasy, thanks for your comment, but let me explain something that I haven’t in the first mail.
I am not a musician but I like music alooooooooot; I wish I could play some instrument, but the software will not for free. I was thinking to charge some bugs (not sure yet 20$-50$) and will use the money to create my own website and forum, If I get some enough money I will buy a Pa800 or Pa2x to test my ideas and do more improvements and test for the software my self which I think will help me improve the software faster.
Dear Rob, If you don’t like my post please feel free to delete it, it is ok

Best regards to all

Hi Babosh,

Re "f) allow merging of PCG files from different .SET folders"

I read your documentation, looked at all the screen shots, and can't see any option there for merging contents of different PCG (Sound) libraries together. It looked to me that the analysis of PCG files was "read only" at the moment. Could you explain how to merge PCG files from different .SEt folders?

Also thank you for reminding me about your earlier post. I have amended my unfair comment.

Rob

Hi Youni, it is very good of you to support Babosh with his efforts to create a good and useful software for pa users, as we all do with encouragement. In my humble opinion the software is not complete and now needs to be passed to Beta tester's with a pa keyboard who know what is required of such software for further testing and rectifications/additions to that software. I agree that Babosh needs a pa keyboard to work on however the keyboard is not a pc and the operations are not the same, that is why I suggest Beta tester's who do have and know pa keyboards. Perhaps Babosh could ask for a couple of knowlegable volunteers to help him. Perhaps Rob and Pete[karmathanever] who have vast experience of pa would help if asked...When the software was then corrected/further developed to an acceptable working state I'm sure that many pa users would look at paying for the program... :)

lets test it

Post by duby2 »

all you have to do is make it a limited time basic .. like 15 days .. or just limit the function of the program ( example , the program can copy 32 styles at one time , the shareware one will just copy one style at a time ) this way it can be tested . Like Mrniceneasy said ,who know what is required of such software .
for what little software i do I use this for time limit..
http://www.softwarekey.com/protection-plus/pricing/

they give you a 30 day trial of the program too ..
and yes Donation of $25.00 I would pay for the program.
keep up the good work ,

Hi Baboosh,
I also think that it would do you good if you work with an experienced Beta tester, who actually owns the instrument and knows it pretty well. It'll save you time, and boost user's confidence to buy the software once he/she gives the green light. Someone like Rob could help you a lot. If you get the program to do what it suppose to do without problems, a lot of us are going to buy it.Almost every other thread on this forum is about how to combine sets!!! Especially people who play ethnic music, and like to import drum kits and styles from millions sets would really appreciate this.

Hi Babosh,

You have achieved a lot, and unless anyone thinks otherwise I am full of praise and enthusiasm for your expert programming. You are the closest anyone has got to delivering software that will allow merging and sorting of .SET files. But the procedure to achieve this goal is complex - especially when several .SET files contain User Styles referencing User Sounds and User Samples - and there is some way to go with the development of your product to achieve this.

Anyway I'm willing to assist you in delivering a quality product that will do the job - if you want my help. If you feel you can promise to deliver the end result we all need (noting the requirements I posted) then I am also willing to pay you now.

Best regards,
Rob

Thanks Babosh.

So far I love it. Specially I could see what is inside my sets on my PC. I mean everything. This was not possible with other softwares. I am still learning and will wait for future additions.

Thanks again.

Fahim

Fahim, do you know if you could actually delete styles/samples..etc with this software ? or it's a read-only?

Hello Sam,

No, You can not delete styles/samples yet. But for time being, I can print or save on my computer, any info regarding my user sets (instead of writting everything down) and then add/delete them by using the Pa800. Per Babosh, more features will be added later in the new upgrades. I really love what he has done so far that no one else even got close. For $25.00 it is a really good deal.

Best regards,

Fahim

Absolutely! If he could get this far, he'll definitely be able to do more with it later on.

Hi all,
First I would like to thank you for discussing in this topic and for getting interested in the subject, even if you criticize my work because this will let my try harder to solve those problems

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Rob,
Yes you are right, you can’t import or merge PCGs because it is deactivated in the software, I think this functionality is useless unless it works with the multisample because the real sound data are saved there.

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Youni,
Thanks a lot for your words and support.

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear mrniceneasy,

You are 100% right, but many of those operations like importing sample/style were tested with the help of some expert users from “Midi East Music forum” http://www.abdallahsafar.com/Forum/ and they are still supporting me with ideas and tests

Actually, I started there, but some members (especially Nadim) referred to your forum and that’s why I posted this subject here to get some ideas

If some experts from here want to test, it is ok that’s easy, so you suggest Rob and karmathanever

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear duby2,

That’s true, but it is very expensive

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Assyrianpianist,

You are right and I will be very happy if some experts can help

------------------------------------------------------------

Back to Rob,

You know it is not a matter of paying or not, but I am telling it again, it is not easy for me to do it differently, and the money I can get form it will allow me to buy the very expensive PA800 which I cant afford now
Actually, I will never use it for music because I am not a musician and I can’t play it.
I like to have one to test many things that I like to test quickly, instead of writing long mails, attaching huge files and waiting few days for an answer.

Thank you a lot for your offer, I promise you all that I will do my best but I can’t promise that we can achieve everything 100%

Actually I have much more ideas than those in your post, here is one:

I will implement samples Cross-Correlation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-correlation), this will help users to find redundant samples

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear sehasafade12,

Thanks a lot, and I am very happy to read your reply

------------------------------------------------------------
Again Assyrianpianist, sehasafade12,

The software can delete/import samples and styles
BUT
I don’t recommend deleting samples, because the KMP has a reference to it and I am not sure abut its effect

Deleting a style is also working, but it has a small bug, I know it but I didn’t have the time to fix it, hope to have it in next version
------------------------------------------------------------

Rob, mrniceneasy, karmathanever, Assyrianpianist

Please check you PM
