Same here.

As long as the contacts are the pink ones, no matter how they adjust them, there may be issues related, as I found myself and also as my local Korg dsitributor and their service center confirmed themselves.

They insist in that the blue contacts are the ones that safely guarantee a trouble free keybed.

AFAIK Korg is still sending Kronos models with RH3 keybeds to dealers with the pink contacts, so be sure this story will continue.

That's exactly what I get, but it seems different to the videos that I see posted, I only get it rarely.

I need to get my fan looked at anyway, it was meant to go back to Korg but unfortunately a had to have an operation and cannot do any lifting so I can't pack it away :roll:

So, with a Month old perfectly working Kronos, and keybed with "pink" connectors, Am i to expect problems in the future?

I have a 73 with pink, owned it since Aug 2012. No issues.

according to my local service center, its not strictly the color but the size of the contacts that created the cutoff issue.

The problem contacts were slightly larger than needed and this batch was the source of the problem.

I have had my 88 for well over 1 year, pink contacts and zero problems. I would conclude there were some oversized contacts that are pink ( that are going to cause problems) and correctly sized contacts that are pink that are perfectly ok.

It was a very subtle part problem and I think it was bad luck they snuck into the production line.

Not all seem to fail at the same moment.

I´ve got two Kronos with pink contacts.

The first one started to fail within a month, the second one my distributor gave me instead, failed almost from day one.

My Korg distrubutor and service center showed me both contacts.

I can confirm they look the same and have the same size.

The only difference I could tell is that the blue ones are, maybe, softer than the pink ones, which seemed, again maybe, stiffer.

Korg has just contacted me to say they've received my Kronos back and that they've picked a new one from their warehouse with serial number 3573
which is a serial number after the contacts were changed.

So looks like the magic 3600 number is slightly lower.

Being upgraded tomorrow and will be with me Monday.

7 day turn around, I'm very happy.

Special thanks for Dean at Korg UK for all his hard work and remaining polite with my barrage of numerous emails per day.

I have 3599 and I think I am beginning to see the keyboard issue so I would not be too sure.

Hmm, I queried it with Korg, me saying

In the korg forums they have been saying that the new contacts were
being put in from sn 3600 onwards on the 88 note, I presume that's just
hearsay and they started a bit before that?


and the response I got was that they have details of which serial numbers korg started using the new contacts but that info hasn't been made public, hence incorrect conclusions have been drawn with ref to the 3600 number being discussed here.

He also assures me that the serial number I have falls within the new contact range.

People on this board who feel that Korg should reveal numbers and be more open with information I suspect would not do so if it was there own company. There are many factors that go into such decisions and you can get burned either way.

Please notice that Korg has gone out of it's way to care for every customer.

I'm not complaining, just saying what I was told earlier

Considering I only emailed Korg UK on Monday and I'm getting a brand new Kronos sent out tomorrow, 4 1/2 days later, that's superb service.

I think Korg UK responded excellently.

Yes I ranted, but that was a natural response to me being deprived of my new Kronos :)

Pleased you're finally getting somewhere and will soon be playing again.
The withdrawal symptoms is a real pain for sure..... :)

You mention the "magic" serial number at around 3600 mark.....beginning to wonder if I should be worried about my own,for the future, as it's
in the low 3000 area.
I'm trying to convince myself that things should be well as not all the keybeds had problems,be it batch number or contact colour etc.

If ever I need to return it,I too will suffer....(like many have already)not only the "withdrawal" part,but also the actual moving the unit itself down the stairs etc.....getting so weak in my old age.... :) (This is only the 73 model !!!).


Anyway,my good friend,let us know the final result with the new one.
