First generation Kronos here, SN 109, not a single problem yet after exactly
19 months of constant daily use of at least 6-8 hours, i don't think anyone
here puts as much hours on the Kronos...still not a single issue, hard or soft.
I don't know what people are talking about what problems.

The Kronos X and Kronos are exactly the same taking aside the extra hard drive. There is no sense in replacing your Kronos with an X just add an additional drive.

That's not 100% true. Regarding the specs, you are right. But the "X" has a slightly updated hardware (motherboard), and the larger models (73 / 88 ) have a revised RH-3 keybed, which only some - not all - of the "classics" have.
With the "classics", it's kind of a guesswork, if they have the very first hardware revision (keybed, data wheel, ...) or not.

I think something got lost in translation. "Synth action" means non-weighted keyboard action, and only the 61 has it. It doesn't mean I'm looking for a "proper synth".

My home studio has a Mac loaded with plug-ins, libraries and several DAWs. That's not the issue.

I want a hardware workstation, on top of my 88-key stage piano, as a studio tool and for live use.

That's what I intended to find out with my question.

I don't have an X, but a former Kronos 73 - without any issues.

As for the X, hardware problems seem to have become minor, and I'm not aware of any significant, reoccurring issues with the 61 key version at all (if anybody has issues, correct me). You can get a similar impression from reading musician forums or asking people who have a Kronos X in use. This does not completely exclude possible issues, like with most modern technical gear..

Have Kronos 61 for a long while now.

My knob never fell off, keybed works well with no issues, added a second Solid State Drive with no problems.

Works good, right out of the box!

This is not an easy keyboard to master, I believe lots of problems are user generated or simply users/owners not getting what they expected.

Unlike my CD player, you have to learn the thing and play the thing.

I've had my 73 since September 2011 and the only problems I've had are ones that I caused myself. My Kronos has performed flawlessly. I have a 3 digit serial number too.

I use my Kronos X 61 4 hours daily. No problems here..

Add me to the "no problems" list - I've had my 61 since Sep. 2011 and my 73 since last June, and no problems with either one...and both are very early serial numbers, too (the 73 is 000nnn)...

My apple had no worms. I don't understand why people talk about worms and apples.

I think it is good to see people post about Kronos with no problems. My biggest put off and what still holds me back is the pervasive negativity. People posting about their words apples makes me more comfortable about choosing an apple myself fully aware some have had a worm but probably farm more have not. Lol woress apples now that's some funny stuff to wake up to thanks! Thanks but in all seriousness the negatives I saw on this board absolutely affected my purchasing decision last year. A balance of good and bad user experiences is a good thing. Did any of this make sense? I hope so.

I had no problems with my Kronos 88X. The only thing I would like to get rid of is the noisy fan.

The the title of this thread is totally misleading and outright wrong.

I don't think there is such list... besides it will be very hard. People with problems tend to fill in such lists, while people not having problems will not fill it in or even never will read it because they don't read KorgForums (yes there are lots of Korg owners NOT being on this forum).

btw, you can add me to the no-problem-owner-list. I had two small issues, one is a key that behaved a bit slower but it's unnoticable while playing, other is a freeze in a beta version and I never could reproduce it afterwards (probably also fixed with a new OS version).

I had no problems whatsoever with my first Kronos 61 (serial #4xx)...well, other than freezing up at 2 gigs and finally being relegated to the studio. I sold that one a while back and recently decided to replace it with another 61. The new one (serial number in the 4000s) had a loose screw head in the box and sticking notes so I returned it for a replacement. The replacement works fine, but it has what sounds like a loose screw rattling around *inside* of the keyboard. It's a fine keyboard, but there is definitely a quality control issue somewhere.
