I think this is going to be a large project for Korg. At least they now acknowledge the issue and are ordering the new LED's. The Engineers will be very busy in the coming months. Korg U.K. have said they will send an engineer to my home to replace the faulty LED's and I am currently awaiting a call from Head Office at Milton Keynes. I'm quite happy to wait until they are ready.

Hi Chris
Received my phone call from Korg Uk today and my details are being passed to an engineer to arrange an appointment, the work will be carried out at my home (good news) and I believe they will be replacing all the control panel buttons, so we seem to have a solution coming from Korg that will remedy this problem...
The fact they are prepared to travel to customers homes to lessen any inconvenience is showing good service and making clear steps that they want to keep customers happy...
Next stop... The forthcoming comprehensive OS update (if one exists).

Hi,
That's great news Simon. You will be one of the first PA5X owners in the U.K. to have your faulty LED's replaced. There will be quite a few of us interested in hearing how it all goes.

I said in this thread that it is confirmed that Korg is investigating the issue and will report when there is a solution. So it is not wise to repair it as I said earlier also in this thread that the issue probably will come back since the cause is not known.

I was in a music store buying drum sticks. We talked about Korg and told about my Pa5X with the damaged buttons. Said told me that Korg asked her if any customers had the problem that many of us have. I said, yes, I definitely have that problem and gave my contact information which she forwards to Korg. Apparently Korg is busy doing inventories to determine how big the problem is. Once again confirmation for me that they are working on the problem.

Try to get get confirmation from Korg themselves or get copied on support requests and replies - otherwise it will continue to remain "unknown". Distributors & retailers are focused on sales (reasonably) and whilst they might send requests for this kind of information they rarely get much more in return than we do - well, that has been the pattern for many years now. Since Korg's management change and the silencing of Italy, I doubt we will hear anything meaningful until Korg actually decides to announce it. Good luck - pls keep us up to date with your enquiries....

FYI.
The newly released Digital accordion FISA Suprema has had issues with plastic pins breaking on the bellows.

The exact cause is simple. The button is constructed from 2 pieces. The clear part that is a window with a thick tab going through the center of the button is the cause of the black dots which are shadows created by the LED not shining through it evenly. The buttons themselves were printed with a 3D printer and the windows were as well. Some of the buttons were not sanded down properly and the same applies to the center tab. The second cause is the board underneath which was not fully secured causing the buttons to shift. The shifting caused the uneven distribution of the LED light. The unshaved buttons explain why the black dots have been seen even right out of the box on some. The shifting of the buttons explains how the dots seem to just appear out of the thin air. The repair does not require new buttons but filing down the existing ones. You're welcome

Thank you.
Does this issue affect the functionality of the keyboard, or is it purely cosmetic in nature?
