can we know about the ideas how use exb sound with pa2x ?
I can understand will be presented on frankfo.. but only to know the idea, if you tell about is different from usb
for me if korg make usb expasion, is good only if external sounds use external user slot like the 2 exb of pa1x, because if you need to load the exb sounds like drum kit in ONLY 64 user drum of pa2x is a problem
then korg good if expand internal user sounds/drumkits

WHOW, Thats wonderful NEWS, Of course i wil buy more sounds, And i think many people wil buy it, By the way, I know that the PAX series can handle only 2 EXB,s

Thats what i mean, If i buy the Duble EXB from TRSOUNDS, Than i CANT use yours!

So please show us a new stuf that we can be heapyer than we are.

And thank you Worth for such an informative, descriptive, yet not overly long review of the board and it's sounds.

Dumb question #564654725476 from me:

Can you load even MORE samples (pianos etc....or what-have-you) into the 32 meg Ram of the PA1x AND use the EXB slots??

In other words between Ram memory and EXBs can you have an absolute PLETHORA of sounds or do the EXBs reside in expanded Ram memory - or is it shared somehow?

Please don't flame me for such a dumb question.....

Hi hellboy44,

it´s not possible to user 32MB EXB-Modules. Only 16MB can be adressed from CPU. So 2x 16MB EXB-Modules is the physical limit of PA1X.

Additional Info:
- we´ve the 16MB Boards and in our BKP for XMS1 we´ve about 30MB material. So we reach the limit of the engine.

Hmm, It would be better if you use 2X16 MB EXB, And let us use the rest (RAM) 32 for own purpose!
That sounds better in my opnion.

I know i asked this before but here it is again, What kind of sollution do you guys heave for PA2X/800???

Is there any info?
or do we must wait until the Messe!`???

Thats interesting Wittid. So how much sample ram was needed to make the piano expansion board ? and how much is used in XMS1 ? Does this mean that if i use both XMs1and XMS4 together on my PA1X i wont be able to sample any other sounds ? Will that max out my PA1X in terms of new sampling ?

I am not sure i understand. the XMS1 needs 32 MB of ram but i can use both XMS1 and 4 together ?

Can i disable either expansionboard if i need to do additional sampling ?

Hi worth,

for better undesratdning

XMS4 needs no sample RAM - all things are on board
XMS1 needs no sample RAM - all sounds are on board

buttttttttt

with this XMS1 comes a BKP
that includes new sounds, samples, PCG´s, styles and all the other things we programmed for XMS1

This BKP needs about 30MB of the sample RAM for the new sounds we implemented.

You can sample your own things too but then you´ve to delete samples from the XMS1 BKP (which i not see as default way).

We made the BKP in this way it fit´s in a very special way to the hardware to produce the best result which we have right now.

So on the one hand we have the boards as hardware XMS1,2,4

On the other hand there´s Software XMS1, 2 (only performances and styles)

Hope it´s a little bit vlearer now.

Just a quick question wittid. Last night i loaded up the "real drums" set from Korg. I realised that i dont need the pianos from Alexs set anymore now that i have the Xprodata XMS4 piano expansion board. That wiped out the extra steinway piano samples from Alexs set which is fine. It then got me thinking, if i buy the XMS1 expansion board and it has some new samples will it wipe out the "real drums" set that i just loaded. My guess is that it will. If it does, does the XMS1 board have similar funky grooves like the real drum set. The real drum set has actuall time sliced real drums so that in the styles they sound so authentic its untrue !! I had a gig last night and a local Gospel producer could not believe the sheer funkyness coming from my PA1X. He asked me if this was the follow up instrument to the M3. When i told him this instrument predates the M3 by about 4 years he nearly wet himself !!

I would really hate to lose these sounds unless i knew i would be gaining much more .

PS when i click on the link to the Xprodata sight i cant seem to access it neither can i access the new demos you have done using the XMS1. Can you email me the demos's ?

i don´t know the real drum set, but i´m very sure we´ve more than enough funky drums inside. I don´t know how big this real set is.

You are able to load about 7MB additional to our system.

I had a discussion with Mr.Dee this morning

The real drum set is from PA-80 and Mr.Dee says, that the Drum sounds from XMS1 are much better.

It´s possible for you to load the styles or single instrument too.

So i think it´s possible for you 2 use XMS1.

If you wanna order XMS1 be sure you´ll get the 50€ less for the bundle with XMS4.

If you´ve any additional questions come back to me.

I asked Mr.Dee to make some groovy demos with dance and funk styles and demos of drum sounds.

Hi Wittid . I managed to listen to the demo new demos. They are really impressive. Especially the guitar strumming demos. How was that done ? Did someone midi a guitar to the instrument and play real time or are these played purely by the keyboard.

Is it possible for you to email me regarding the drum styles and samples. or put up some demos on the more contemporary RnB , Funk, Gospel Soul type styles ? If that cant be done on the site can you email me .
