I think you're right. The PBS-TRI is the interface between the Trinity and the additional RAM banks C and D.
Why? Where have you read that?? There are some clues, my example, but this isn't determinant.

Why else would you need the PBS-TRI if it wasn't the case?

Because, if the pbs were the interfave between the trinity and the chips, when i put out the board the trinity wuld not see the aditional banks.
Anyway, is best to have the pbs and the chips.

The PBS is not necessary for me but the extra C, D and S banks would be very helpful.
Mabye there is a debug routine or a jumper or an os modification that opens up the extra banks without a PBS.

For S or M banks you need the Solo-Tri or Moss-Tri analogue modelling boards respectively. Without those boards there isn't any DSP to generate Solo or Moss sounds - they're wholly separate to the standard Trinity architecture.
