That's great news, lucky you.

If you have anything to share about your time hands on with the keyboard, I'm sure people will be very interested in hearing what you have to say.

Hi Sharp,

the concept of Lionstracks are fantastic... I never heard on a computer so many plugIns at the same time in this quality :-)

Thanks guys for the compliments!
Available from some days, then new OS update, with the new Kernel 2.6.31-2 Multimedia that can support Up to 64Gb ram ( on K10N78 max is 16Gb)
Now the latency is around 0.2ms and finally the Native Nvidia driver on the internal 8.4" display!

I wil registar my interst in this Groove Keyboard, looks very promising.

I've not read "all" the thread, but some of it. I'm very interested in a product like this, simpley because I like to do things the "hardware way", and get away prom the PC, with it's latency, sound card issues (Windows 7 won't use my Sound card now - EMU-0404, it crackles, makes noises, unusable in Cubase.

Questions I would like to ask though (which are in a random sort of order) are.....

If i ordered the Groove keybaord (when you have them ready - and if i read right, it says on your website that they are AVAILABLE NOW!), will it be easy to use and playable once out of the box? (I know it's a different keyboard to OASYS/M3/Fantom/Motif etc, but more like "Open labs" NEKO)

Reason I ask this, is because It's software based, and wondered if there are Lots of optional extras ? (IE: will the RAM be east to get hold of, or perhaps it is already installed??

Extras like "Plug in boards, dongles, word clocks, efx expansions add-in boards" and the like (sorry not read the specs too much but will do so later).

When (approximatley) will it be ready to "ship", as I'm a "bit" concerned that you haven't sorted the color/font out yet. And how much will the Groove (red) cost (I'm from the UK, and wondered about Power supply differences (outlets, Shipping/Cost, and Warrrentee.

Looks promising anyway, nice "little companion for My KORG OASYS:).

Is there an on-display help menu, and are your manuals Downloadable via PDF?.

Sorry for all the Questions

regards

Tony

with low latency linux kernel, we are now close the 0 latency ( the Jack show now 0 but I don't believe...
Image

Anyway, Kurt tested here the system and can confirm that NO noise at all, we have 8000w Mayersounds system, Volume at MAX and no noise, seem like OFF.
If i ordered the Groove keybaord (when you have them ready - and if i read right, it says on your website that they are AVAILABLE NOW!)
Groove are ready here, Kurt saw here the all models ready.
Already shipped some pcs and remain available only 2 RED Groove.
After we get the paiment, I need just 2-3 days and then we can shipping.

I can shipping more 4-5 Pcs max...for a reason that Kurt know really well... :) ( I let kurt reply here...)

will it be easy to use and playable once out of the box? (I know it's a different keyboard to OASYS/M3/Fantom/Motif etc, but more like "Open labs" NEKO)
Out of the box youy run On, like the OS video demo that i made and then yu just press some sounds engines and you get the all of what is installed, no mouse, no PC keyb....totally feel like a embedded system.

Manual of the old software is available on our webpage, all free download.
Reason I ask this, is because It's software based, and wondered if there are Lots of optional extras ? (IE: will the RAM be east to get hold of, or perhaps it is already installed??
RED Groove have this hardware configuration:
AM3 X2 250-3000Ghz dual core
4Gb RAM
1Tb HD Sata
http://www.lionstracs.com/store/groove-x6red-p-232.html
And a basic but nice complete soundset library, IF you need more you have to buy and install, like the all oter PC system.
Extras like "Plug in boards, dongles, word clocks, efx expansions add-in boards" and the like (sorry not read the specs too much but will do so later).
IF we start to add this all professional plugins, then the cost of the Groove will grown up like crazy around 10.000 euros... you are free to install what you like.

When (approximatley) will it be ready to "ship", as I'm a "bit" concerned that you haven't sorted the color/font out yet. And how much will the Groove (red) cost (I'm from the UK, and wondered about Power supply differences (outlets, Shipping/Cost, and Warrrentee.
ready to shipping in about 2-3 days, after we receive the payment
Shipping cost to UK with GLS is only 95 euro
Powersupply is one standard ATX 500W, 14Cm Fan, full ranger power IN, some like this:
http://www.alternate.de/html/product/Ne ... =Netzteile

Looks promising anyway, nice "little companion for My KORG OASYS:).
Oasys is one amazing keyb too, but nothing to do with the Groove, is a totally different product.
Giga streaming, multiple ASIO host and multimedia players are our TOP features.

we tested the top 10 of PlugIns Smile AMAZING!
wrong. we not tested 10 PlugIns, we have run UP 10 ASIO Hosts servers:
Image

I will try again to explain what is the difference from loading VST Plugins and multiple ASIO Host servers.

How you already know, the Windows OS have the limitation to running UP only ONE ASIO host server at once.
For example, you can Run UP the Reaper SEQ, the engine will take busy the Audio-midi card and others application are not allowed to share the same audio card.
On Reaper then ( can be also: Cubase, Forte...) you can open inside many VST PlugIns, used for tracks or scenario..
the problem is when you need to change the scenario/songs, every time the all VST setups must be closed ( quite) and reopen all again.
This mean lose a LOT of time, CPU power and of course a lot of manually stuff to recall by the mouse.
anyway, when one of this application are open, others stand alone ASIO application can not share the data on the same audio card.

On our Linux system we use JACK:
http://qjackctl.sourceforge.net/
Jack is one audio-midi HOST server that will share the I/O ports of one 8 or multiple) audio-midi card for the all running application.

Just for get you a clean idea: you can have 10-100 windows PC connected on network and this all 100 PC will print documents in only ONE network Laser printer.
Jack is about the same as one Laser printer, where 10-100 PC or application will play sounds and Midi on the same audio card.
This under windows seem still not possible.

So..how work the system under the Groove?
We have 10 dedicated and programmable keys function, named ASIO HOST
Each ASIO Host key have one virtual MIDI OUT port and can also memorize the file link application.EXE
When you press one of this keys, automatically start the script and make:
"open /root/.wine/drive_C/program_files/native_Instruments/B4II.exe, with. WINE
Automatically Wine open the stand alone B4II.exe GUI, the script will connect the stereo OUT to theMaster EQ inputs, reverb chorus sends inputs to the FX server and of couse connect the Midi Server OUT B4 to the B4II.exe application.
Now the stand alone application remain UP and always running untill you make the restart Groove OS.
After one ASIO host application is UP, you continue press the all others available ASIO host from the keys presets.
At this time you will see this all ASIO Host running and when you jump from one key HOST to the others, we just switch the MIDI OUT port of the selected ASIO Host, it mean about 0.2sec time.

After this all 10 ASIO Host are rtunning ( of course need CPU power and RAM) you still can switch sounds engines to the GIGA sampler, ROM sounds, AMD Synth, audio-midiplayers....OR open also 2-3 Reaper sequencer!
ALL this engines and sequencer will play the all sounds on the same audio-midi card.

For windows based system this all features seem still not possible, just read the basic issue that you can have with a Openlabs:
http://forum.openlabs.com/index.php?showtopic=1569
Is NOT a OL fault...is only the Widows OS limitation.
Of course OL can install and Running ANY windows application ( but not Gigastudio because need a special driver and then you can not use the VST)
One simple example: there you can run the Forte or Riff or what you like for the sounds manager....BUT IF you need at the same time to playback one simple midifile or wav/mp3??
Quit, Open, Load, Quit, Open, Load, Quit, Open, Load......ouch...

Hi Guys.

As you know I have seen the drawings for the Vasio Racks amongst other things and Lionstracs posted the White model I had rendered above. Well they have given me all the colour details and a few pointers that allow me to render the rack again only this time it will look a lot more like the final product.

So here it is. Again, remember that this is a 3D render and not a photo of the actual product. The chances are that I'm 95% accurate in my 3D render as to what the actual product will look like. The only thing I know very little about is the type of knobs used. Everything else should be fairly accurate.

Or feast on the high resolution version. ( 5MB download )

Have to say that I'm pretty excited about this and I have a feeling it's going to be hugely popular.

Sharp.
