I agree.
Kevin and I have not always agreed in this thread, but equally, quite often, we do agree as well.
I am not a mod on this forum (I am on others), but I feel that this is starting to verge on the personal.
The truth is we will all have opinions on keyboards that others won't necessarily agree with, we all have a right to our opinions and we are here to debate them in a manner that respects other people's views, and we need to recognise that in debating synth characters, there is no one correct answer. I mean: people rave about the TB303 bass-line, and I simply cannot see the point: put it up against a Rickenbacker (esp one played by Chris Squire or Geddy Lee) and there is simply no contest IMO
But others will choose to disagree with my perspective and will argue how seminal that little box is, and I respect their right to do that.

Maybe it's me but I really don't feel this got particularly out of hand. Kevin accusing Tschury of getting personal and implying he writes nothing but prejudiced rants doesn't make it so. Tschury has backed up every claim with evidence or direct quotes from his debating partner.
That said, let's remind ourselves we're talking about a keyboard here. These days, greater things are hanging in the balance than our opinion of Yamaha's latest contribution to the synthesizer world.

Sorry but "attacked" you a very strong word that should indicate something pretty darn obvious to me, yet I don't see it. If I've missed something, please point it out to me.Kevin Nolan wrote:difficult to do when you have people attacking you, rather than discussing the instrument!
You know my position on that. It's simply not allowed here on KF and I've always without fail addressed any issue like that.
What I see going on here is a minor disagreement that can easily be resolved. You and Tschury simply need to give it a rest and agree to disagree.
Do you really need a Moderator to sort this out?
Regards
Sharp.

Although a follower of this discussion, I've not heard much that made me want to buy a Montage. This video has changed my mind a little. There's still some rather dull sounds and effects, and maybe too much note stealing going on in places, but there are one or two things that made me sit up and take notice.

The orchestra passages are of interest. Not sure if they and the entire package is worth $4000. At some point, me and the headphones will go to Guitar Center.voip wrote:Although a follower of this discussion, I've not heard much that made me want to buy a Montage. I would like to strengthen my Kronos with superb orchestra and guitars. But I hope the EXs/ sample libs could do that.
And I am still thinking of eventually bringing in MainStage .
Either/or is not expensive.
Its great to have all the options.
