I duno if this has been suggested yet.....but go out and buy a spdif to analogue convertor.
The spdif out on the zero 8 is quiet and I've used it many times live and also in the studio with no problems, no noise and I received one of the first shipment of them with the hiss.
There are a bunch of companies that make a convertor that will do the job.

Hi everyone. Here is what a Korg UK tech support guy told me when I recently enquired as to when the hiss would be sorted..
"Hi William, I'm not sure where this rumour about a mod to the zero 8 came from but as far as were aware there are no mods for this product here or anywhere else in the world."
Hmm, short and sweet. I guess what he's saying is, "f**k off i'm busy not fixing our reliable, fully working, professional products"

Hiss Issues

I've had this mixer for 2 days and I'm getting rid of it. I've been DJing for over 15 years and this is the worse sounding mixer I have ever had. I called Korg and they said to turn down my monitors. That's BS, I've had other digital mixers that did not produce this annoying hiss. Hopefully TS will have some better four channel mixers that are certified.

glad Im not the only one to say this, certified yamaha digital mixer doesn't have so much hiss, even my old analog mackie got less hiss, and I ve just checked my brother KORG numeric 16tr recorder D1600: very far to be so noisy (also note fader are graduated in DB, but...). So f u c k ya korg with "that's the way numerical mixer works, There is really a pb, look how much post about the hiss,
THERE IS CLEARLY A PB THAT NEED A FIX, OR GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK
Still Pissed

The Korg rep I talked to said there isn't a problem so there won't be a fix to this problem. I even mentioned this forum and the number of complaints and he stated he had a zero 4 and he justs turns down his monotors and everything is cool. That's BS I just hooked my PMC 08 Pro back up and NO HISS....Sounds a 100 times better than Korg's POS. Korg is ripping people off at $1300.00 for this POS mixer!!!! I would like my money back...KORG

Any Korg representative care to jump in and confirm the "New production batch - No Hiss" theory
by providing the serial number range of the new (hopefully less/not noisy at all) Zero8 mixers please?
I am also eager to know more on the long time ago announced/promised (yet to be released) HW fix.
Almost 10 month passed since the hiss issue has been reported by several early adopters (including me)
over this board (plus other official communication channels) and Korg US product managers confirmation
R&D Japan looking for the possible resolution. May I ask about the current status please?
Thanks in Advance,

i dont really think its true that there are new zero 8s without hiss.. i think you just dont have monitors up to hear hiss, all zeros have it..
so are you monitors up loud?
