Hi Baboosh,

Can you please answer this question I posted earlier.
I only have the Pa500 at this moment in time, will this software be of any use to me or is it only designed for Pa2x/Pa800 users ?
Thanks,

Steve

You've to donate to Babosh's website then copy the ID from Register menu in help menu and email your ID to get an activation code witch you should use on your computer, then the software will be unlocked.

Hi David/Steve. I have loaded a Set in from pa500 and the screenshots are below. I haven't any resources in the Set only styles I'm afraid

<a href="http://www.imagecross.com/"><img src="http://hosting11.imagecross.com/image-h ... PG"></a><a href="http://www.imagecross.com/"></a>

<a href="http://www.imagecross.com/"><img src="http://hosting11.imagecross.com/image-h ... IF"></a><a href="http://www.imagecross.com/"></a>

A point here you can very easily rename the styles within the bank....

style locations

Post by maintech »

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'd like to respond to this new software offer, however I'm wondering if it will enable me to do what I've been dreaming of, and that is to expand the number of available styles without sacrificing memory, by keeping them on SD cards, then loading them into whatever bank one desires. I'm sure that all those empty style locations in the Korg allocated locations would also be neat to use, but I'm sure I'll bump up against the memory capacity if I try to fill all of the available openings. Any comments anyone?

Hi David. You can fill all available slots and save 'ALL' to a specific name to sd card, then overwrite those styles with more styles and do a save ALL to another specific name as many times as you wish. I would personally have named banks of 32 styles ready to overwrite your 'User' as and when required... You can fill your factory banks with styles. I doubt that it will affect your upper limit on memory. Firstly You would need to go to media-> preferences tab -> unlock factory styles.

example: 3 named banks from my styles...

Hi all, I just missed a lot, I can see many posts
Ok, I am back, actually my pc just said bye bye, that’s it just stopped working - dead

I have a new PC now, but it took me one week to come back to development.

For now, the Sound change is implemented and tested on the PC but not on the PA machine.

I will release it after testing it on a PA machine, very soon

Regards

Thanks Babosh, everything is looking geat. All I can say from a personal point of view is that Babosh has worked really hard on this software for the korg pa Community and as you can see from the screenshots above the software is now fulfilling it's promise. Support Babosh please. :)

Hi Paul, that facilty doen't exist in the software, to the best of my knowlege it wasn't asked for. I feel sure that if it can be done then Babosh may look at that in the future. I agree it would be a really, really useful addition to the program :)

Hi Paul,

Your idea of having a sound & style preview facility for Pa keyboards is a very good one, and I'd love to see something like that just in the same way the M3 Editor allows preview of edited sounds for the M3.

It would need a way of hooking up with the Pa keyboard, and then to use the Pa keyboard itself to perform the previewing of the sounds and styles under the supervision of MIDI SysEx commands from the Editor.

The M3 has a very fulll MIDI and Sysex implementation which allows individual sounds and programs to be downloaded from the PC based editor in real time, followed by use of an on screen keyboard coupled via MIDI to the M3 to allow the M3 preview the edited sounds.

My big fear is that the Sysex implementation on the Pa keyboards is very slender by comparison with the M3. The Pa series definitely won't support the upload/ download of Programs and Sounds from an external editor at present. It doesn't matter how clever the programmer is - and Babosh is certainly one of the most competent people to take an interest in the Pa series.

Unfortunately a feature of this nature would require additional software to be implemented by Korg in the Pa series keyboards. And that isn't gonna happen, no matter how much we all want it.

The best we can hope for is that Babosh's software could drop a mini-SET file containing a Program or Style to be previewed into the MIDI-to-Host device folder, causing it to be transferred very quickly to the Pa keyboard. The use would still have to run the .SEt file on the Pa keyboard and then try it out. The whole process could be reduced to a few seconds.

Rob

Ok, Looks like Baboosh is about to release the next update... Now you'd be able to change the contents of your styles. It's a huge improvement. How many times you wanted to move around and reorganize you user drum kits/sounds but just the thought of remapping and finding styles which were going to be effected by, was just a horror movie on its own? Now, you could do that A LOT faster and A LOT easier without even touching a button on the keyboard.

Some thought that i wanted to share with Baboosh and people who are interested in this thread:

1) Once you go to the page where you're able to change sounds (korg and Users) there's two tabs called : (Save Style, and Save STY ). It's very confusing to remember which is doing what. I would make a more clear distinction between the two.

2) Once you're done with the editing , and you press (save Sty) it saves the new version over the older set. I really think it should prompt us back with a window where we could specify if we wanted to change this as "a new set", or just write it over the old one.

3) When browsing the sound pressing the U/K buttons, the whole library shows up. In the future you might want to make this more efficient, by categorizing the name of the instruments according to their family of instrument. For example , if i want to load a Bass instrument, then I could just browse the Bass categorey. I know you can't do that with user sounds, but it could be possible with Korg sounds.

Hi Sam, I did the same thing but Babosh put me right on that one, so 2 of us! Perhaps the STY which refers to the 'Bank of styles' could be renamed as STY BANK..... Whereas 'STYLE' is correct for individual styles....

2] Good idea!

3] Good idea but I can live with it 'as is' at this time...

I'm sure that a Tutorial will be forthcoming when the software is complete..
:)
