I sold the TRITON (XXX)
to get another exotic synth, sampled it, got another TRITON to
expand my synth/sample library.
I have owned, sold and re-owned the same synths sometimes (sell the 76 keyboard swith to rack, sell the rack swith to the 88 keys, sell the 88 go back to the rack),

but 34 tritons in 10 years makes the average stay in your set of a machine you obviously like... er... 3 months and a half

Do you livein a phone booth in the middle of a shopping mall, so that each time you lay a synth for 15 minutes, you have to sell everything else?

more in detail: about the SEVEN oasys, THREE kronos, TWELVE m3 and TWO AND A HALF lionstracs

(Sharp is getting ready for sina the only lionstracs module which is 63 rack units high. not 62. 63!)

Korg had a huge opportunity available when Stephen Kay brought them KARMA. They should have paid him his weight 10x in Gold - Not dollar notes - and buy him and his wife a new place and the dog a life time supply in fresh salmon steaks.

In my opinion they wasted the advantage of the millennium with very bad marketing. As a result the original burgundy beauty was not a runner but rather a niche product. They could have gained a massive competitive advantage but completely wasted it.

Most dealers where totally incapable of demonstrating the product in a decent way to prospective buyers. They did not need to be KARMA experts but have a fundamental understanding and capability to answer questions and do more than turning up the volume, pressing a pad and staring at the customer with that "Yeah baby.... good eh?!... going to buy it now?" look.

You can never make a first impression twice, Korg marketing blew it.

What Stephen Kay demonstrated, and still does, in terms of customer support has been unique in the entire Industry, and can probably only be compared with the product support and development of Spectrasonics.

I give a flying bull if Suzuki would buy Korg.

We might all be playing on a Neko by http://www.openlabs.com/ and using
all types of software like Vienna Instruments PRO and ALICIA'S KEYS
and many more. Would have tons of storage and upgrade for ever.
I was thinking of buying a KRONOS but this maybe buy out is not good.

On what grounds was there that there IS a buyout?

This?:
Rumors are surfacing that Avid and Nord are each in talks with Korg to complete an acquisition of the company.
Sorry, it's gonna take something more than one single random person (you) with a very broad statement to make anyone take it seriously. For the record, I don't and I doubt anyone else does. Let's have a source or two. Let's see one single shred of evidence that you didn't make this up. You're the one with the big rumor to prove.

Trolling?

I'll remind you that for many years, Korg was actually owned by Yamaha before it was bought back by Katoh-san, etc.
A small note: that's a bit of an exaggeration. For a few years, Yamaha owned a majority interest in Korg as collateral on a loan.

I just work in R&D, so I wouldn't necessarily know if we were being acquired. However, I find it doubtful, and this is the first I've heard of such a rumor. The inclusion of Clavia as a prospective buyer, in particular, makes this questionable in my opinion. Clavia is a cool company with some neat products, but a quick glance at the respective sizes of Korg and Clavia's trade-show booths should give a pretty good idea of which company is bigger than the other.

One of the six-sigma-guidlines is: "Never assume!". I love that one. Therefor I'm not too excited about rumor-threads ... quite often they turn into "tumor-threads".
