Dan I am over 55 and use the K for both studio and live! I put live on the survey. I'm in the studio right now working on a project for a friend of mine and he is using Phil Greene as the producer. When we call up sounds on the Kronos he always says "I really like those sounds that come out of that box" then he takes over and starts messing the EQ and such on it, then smiles and says "that works." He has made gold records and recorded the greats like Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham and the like, so that says a lot for the Kronos!
I am using it for B3, Acoustic Piano, Rhodes, Wirly, Strings Horns and a few sound effects as of now. Oh and some percussion as well. Phil is pleased with all the sounds which makes me smile! And trust me he is very fussy.
FYI Dan!
Take care,
Marc

52 active gigging more than studio work, so that's what I chose.

Old enough to have learned that you need the best gear to sound the best. Or, at least, to remove "bad gear" as an excuse for poor performance.

I don't get on this forum much as other ones I frequent (such as Talkbass, man, I'm addicted to Talkbass), but I have found it useful.
Bass and keyboard player, not usually at the same time, but sometimes in the same song!
Boards: Kronos 2, and Hammond SK1
Basses: Fender, G&L
