After reading the new English version of the parameter guide, I'm super excited to my Electribe now. Well I was before, but now it's worse :)

There's a lot of very useful functionality deeper in the menus, stuff your wouldn't need to tweak live anyway. Looks soooo much deeper than the EMX-1 was, truly a nice upgrade.

Had to go and check, and yep, it's available: http://i.korg.com/uploads/Support/USA_E ... Guides.zip

it's a zip file with different languages, the E one is english.

It's not in the manual or the parameter guide as far as I can see.
Nah, me neither. Never mind. Thanks for your reply...
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

If you are unable to edit motion sequence data on the sampler version, then that will be a shame, because you can do some real neat tricks on the esx-1 if you roll up your sleeves and edit the data. I don't think it's such a big deal on the new synth version though. But i'm really pleased about being able to set the behaviour of the knobs on the new Electribe, it'll make things much easier when swapping parts and tweaking values when jamming live. Which is, i guess, what it's geared up to do in the first place...

Unlike the previous models where motion sequence was accessed via a botton per part, that's not there now. Motion sequence is initiated whilst 'record' is pressed & then as soon as you move a knob or whatever that starts the motion for the selected part.. The record knob goes into fast flash mode & then stops after the usual full cycle of the sequence.
Like before, if you don't like the result you can flick to a different pattern & then back again to clear it.
There's an undo function too where you hold 'erase' while turning a knob or pressing a pad in the case of note data.

Havn't looked any deeeper at motion sequence yet, maybe there's more to discover.
My current Korg gear. MS20 Mini... & now the .... Oh, maybe not !
...Had a few other Korg things over the years.

I went 32GB.
Heaps of room for exports, plus when the sampler version releases I can use it with that too.

I'm just thinking ahead about the sampler version really. As i said, with the synth engine i don't see a need for the ability to edit motion sequence data. But on the esx-1, that ability opens up a whole bag of tricks when working with samples. Being able to insert sample start points exactly when you want them ii find is a really powerful and useful technique, to name just one. I've got a new Electribe synth on order, but i'm more of a sampler person and i'm VERY interested to see what the new sampler version will have to offer. But if it can't do something i pretty much use all the time on the esx-1... Hmmmm... It depends i guess if the new sampler has the same flexibilty as the new synth, in that any part can be set to sample slice, sample stretch, one shot, keyboard etc.

Erasing Motion Sequence data is covered on page 13 of the manual: "Execute the CLEAR MOTION command in the edit menu
to erase the motion sequence."

Page 9 in the cryptic program guide lists "shift+pad 10" as the menu for micro-editing the motion sequence.

I think that just allows you to switch between smooth and stepped motions?

You might be right. Like I said, it's cryptic. Of course, shift+pad12 is the step edit.. Perhaps it is in there? I can't see them leaving this feature out, at least I hope not.
