Jonsolo, you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm doign the very same thing with a future song which I've gotten quite far with. I've never produced this one since the 80s and never liked the second verse so I've rewritten that and I'm doing a comlete production based on my new digital tools, it's a smooth ballady thing like my march song yet quite different. For me I think if you're posting a new production then go for it. The only thing I would not want to see in OSAM is people cheating and posting something they did a while ago and just posted it to coast along, which in this case is not what we're doing. I actually find that rewriting and making something old sound fresh is actually harder than writing from scratch because I tend to either struggle to recreate the orig sound, or I work so hard at sounding different that it loses it's inspiration. I say go for it.

Hope you don't get irritated with my faces..I'll quit soon...
In the meantime...Guess I may buy a guitar... I am just still not able to see how you can play a decent guitar sound from a keyboard...It simply doesn't match up any way to relate to...
However...If you have any help for rock/jazz/pop styles from the keyboard...maybe you would share tham...
Thanks All !!! ellll

John,
How true it is that guitar from a keyboard is just not the same thing. I am sure Stephen relishes the fact that he not only owns a guitar but can play well. But rock comes in many flavors. Clav and wurli sounds are always good choices. Hammond organ is a fav as well.
What many of us have done is to get a real buzzy synth sound and use it in a similar fashion to Trent Reznor (NIN). But that may be much heavier than what you are thinking of.
That is why I love using a virtual sampler in my computer program. You play it like you would any instrument, and yet can get tons of great variations depending on the samples you load.

Hey Jon!!!, Good to get your response...Am taking it to heart...but..,
The Hammond is not a good choice here....Its the heavy background already...this needs to be one of the sad, slippy, lead sounds, often pulled out by some unearthly guitarist, unsuspected..(even with rez and wah and dis.)...and blows everyone away...You know...like "she's in the audience tonite,....and this is for her"..etc...like in the 70's-80's.?? It's a ballad type attempt...(albiet it a poor one
) (Trent may be too heavy, but actually if done right.."???)
Actually few things could take the place of guitar for this, but a few might..so I will try some of your ideas!!
I also need to go through my other machine discs, if I can find them in this junk......I may actually have a guitar that fits...I will try..
Many thanks!!! ellll

Please help me............
An ungodly amount of rap artists are spamming my Soundclick to add me as friend.
Is there some global command setting I can use and simply click it to"no"? Or is there some MIDI controller feature I am missing?

I am not in that genre!!! ha ha! I have no clue why I have become the target. I used to do nothing BUT hiphop but none of these cats are people I used record, nor would they be associated with them (the artists I recorded are actually signed). So I am perplexed.
Anyway, I have rejected the requests. Glad to be free from having to record that genre!

Yea. I like to maximize the time I get to work on my songs, and I like having a whole month to fix my mistakes, etc. The sooner I get feedback the sooner it is closer to "right".

Hey, guys. One month at a time. I'm still reeling from the latest postings. Actually, I'm waiting for tomorrow as well to post my latest recreation. But I do cheat, as this one is not too much of an experiment, unless it's an experiment in simplicity, of which I wasn't capable until recently. I used to think that more tracks would fatten up the sound, now I'm finding that I enjoy the spaces and the silence just as much, and hey, silence is free, too!

It is funny you should say that George about space to fatten a track...that was kind of my attempt with March's post. I liked the sparseness of the track. My next track is anything but simple. But that is why I am anxious to get some feedback so I can determine if anything needs to be fixed, changed, rearranged, moved, shifted, slid, hit, beat, killed, removed, terminated or exterminated, relaxed, scrapped or screwed.

Actually, would you mind if I used that last part of your post for my new lyrics? It's much better than what I'm coming up with at the moment.
