Wishlists for KORG PA3x/PA4x
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
yes Pete also has it right ,,, would love to see the sync start LED flash at the tempo of the style (like the M3 tempo LED) - great when you want to verbally count straight in to a number with other musicians etc...
Can we not assign the assignable switch pedal or EC5 to toggle the vocal processor up or down ,,,
and still in the Vocal Processor has ,,, NO Latch .. in the notes ... it was in the pa800 and pa2x and it just work half way . ... if you pick notes . you could not pick the latch . Why ... you could everwere else ...korg must no like us .. what was the song ,,, from steve miller band ,,,,,,,,,,,,oh ,, oh that right ,,,,,,,, take the money and run ..

Please add this feature:
In SOUND/EDIT mode, page AMP LEVEL/PAN please add a controller popup menu and an Intesity value for it, besides the Amp Level.
I would like to have the ability to control each oscilator's AMP LEVEL from the 8 sliders or ANY midi controller 1-120! Or an external controller like Pad Control.
The idea is to control oscs amp level, by turning on/off via midi control messages and so imitating the making of register settings of a Farfisa Combo Organ in one single sound!!! We can use the 24 oscs of a sound to house each of the Farfisa's "buttons" and then make our own combinations in realtime or via an suitalbe tabletop pad controller...!
This feature is available at Kurz machines since 1990's.
Please add it Korg Italy!!!

I will post some tips that I would not classify them as wish list but as "must list" since Pa3X is
claiming arrangers flagship and with just a few improvements this will be entirely true for a long
time until Pa4X arrival (always speaking for present hardware).
DNC required improvements
- 3 panel switch controllers (sw1-3) need toggle mode in order to activate oscillators
or effects permanently not only momentary.
- Legato & legato Up/down need individual applying step adjustment and not only sound
global setting.
- Oscillators Cycle functions must be defined as staccato operation due to be
overridden by legato oscillators and verse.
- Cycle functions need more parameters like initial trigger priority oscillator ,semitones
distance application & time duration enabling threshold ,due to emulate correctly
up/down strings stroke of classical string instruments.
- Each Amplifier level oscillator page requires additional controller options especially
to be assigned with 8 assignable sliders through extra CC# buses that will be available
in global menu to assign 8 sliders or to any external midi routing.
- 32 osc per sound would be a great advantage for complex DNC sounds development, I always
touch limit (indeed this line belongs to wish lists).
Interface :
- A line command for saving a style to User or favorite Banks must be at last included at screen
upper menu or at least browsing ability !
- Pads need a global adjustment to be inhibited or not by "stop" button for obvious reasons
like a strumming guitar that must start or continue exactly on time that stop command occurs.
Also toggling button feature for stopping if feasible under software.
chord recognition
An important chord recognition is missing !
Talking about chord 13(b9) or 6(b9) that is out of tables and is easy to be added , at least
in playing recognition in order bass to play the root chord which is the major issue.
A good suggestion is when playing for example in C scale and left hand presses notes in order
( E - A - Bb - Db ) instead of A(addb9) , C13(b9) must be illustrated and bass should play C
chord root ! Exactly as ( E -A - Bb - D ) result C13 & C root.
Then the missing A(addb 9) is preferred to be covered by A7(addb 9) with sequence
( A - Bb - C# - E - G ) as currently works.
Thanks for your time !

"Double-click" in file browser
One suggestion to add is a "Double-click" feature in the file browser. When viewing files in disk/media mode, we should be able to make a selection or open a folder whenever the file or folder name is already selected. This is like double-clicking the file/folder name. So if a file name or folder is highlighted, we should be able to touch it again to select it or open the folder.
This would be more like how the rest of the PA3x works. For example, when selecting a patch or style, you simply touch it's name. There is no need to click a button at the bottom of the screen. The file browser should work like this also.

If Korg introduce that I hope it is an option - the last thing I want is "more clicking".....Would love to see "double clicking" enabled for all file/media related screens.
.. or better still, DOS 6YES MY WISH IS THAT KORG USES ANDROID !

LINUX will do just fine...

I have been busy constructing 2 piano sounds along with a bouzouki sound on my Pa3X.
And I have just realised that the sound edit Page Menu MISSES 4 very, very important functions:
• Insert OSC
• Delete OSC
• Swap OSCs
• Sync OSCs
Imagine that you have to make a stereo sound with one velocity layer. Simple things. Just programm everything for the Left side Keymap on the OSC1, then just copy OSC1 to OSC2, change keymap and pan and you are ready.
Lets say that you want to build a new piano sound, based on one of the factory sounds. The main sound consists of 3 stereo keymaps, which gives as 6 OSCs. The factory sound had 4 stereo keymaps, which gives us 8 OSCs. So you start filling the first 6 OSCs, and you have then 2 OSCs "muted" for nothing. If you really want to get rid of them, you need to copy all 10 remaining OSCs one-by-one, 2 places back, so you will have only the active oscs in your sound.
Everything ok up to know. You start tweaking the sound to fine tune the EGs, the filters, the Amps etc. You have to do MANUALLY every movement, up to 6 times by hand...!
And on top of them, if you finally want to add a missing fourth velocity stereo keymap, you can only add the 2 OSCs at the END of the existing OSCs...!!! Then new twickening begins and you will have to move also between different pages of the OSCs selection soft buttons...!
Please add these features, we will be able to boulit extraodrianry sounds in no time!!!

Merging Songbook files
There needs to be a way to load and merge a saved Songbook file into the current PA3x Songbook database without having to use a computer editor.

Bill , I agree that we can save some time , but I think that we must focus on important functionsKONNECTORAS wrote: And I have just realised that the sound edit Page Menu MISSES 4 very, very important functions:

that can't be achieved at all , since completely missed in advanced sample editing and all your
requested sub-routines can be easily achieved using existing functions.
• Swap OSCs & Sync OSCs
Create as many copies of a similar Osc settings via Screen menu copy Oscillator.
• Insert OSC
Increase max. OSC number & copy next to the end.due to create an Osc place
• Delete OSC
Copy unwanted Osc as last & Decrease max. OSC number
A predefined architecture is needed to save time in these cases. !

smart notes
smart notes ,,
in the style mode ,,, i like to see this ,, when you play a ( c chord ) c-e-g ,,,
and the string note is a sustain E ( the 3th ) then you play a ( A minor chord ) the new sustain not will be a (C note the 3th ) it should know to keep the ( E note ot top and not change to the 3th ( c ) of A minor )) the note E is in both c chord and the A minor ,, then string notes would be smoother , not jumping all around ,,, you hear it before ,, one sustaining string note on top and the chords are moveing all around under it ,,
so we could have a check box one for smart notes and one for challenge notes or not to smart notes.. just like the RX noise or not ..

Hi again,
as you probably know I'm a former PA1X user, then moved to Tyros 4 and then back to PA3X.
I was sure to find in the last Korg flagship the direct style selection as I was able to find in the PA1X (called Direct FD) and in the Tyros (here also other resources can be read immediatly - like style, registrations, etc.).
For those who don't know what I'm talking about this feature allow to pre-listen styles directly from an USB (in PA1X we had FD instead of USB but the story was the same) without the need to load anytime in Media mode the file into the internal memory. Easy and fast.
I was so sure to find it that I needed some time to realize that ... wasn't simply there!
Loading anytime styles in Media mode need to find always an empty location to avoid overwriting good styles and it is definitely a waste of time once you are used to test it just reading it directly from a removable device. I simply don't understand a single reason to cancel this feature, already available in models quite 10 years old and for what Korg has for sure the code available.
Korg can you please give us back this?
I'm sure that anybody using styles can appreciate and benefit from this feature so in this case please give a bump to raise Korg attention, thanks.
Cheers.
