Hi @Darenager
What are the 808 kicks like? I know this is subjective but can we get extra long sustain booms like hip hop style or electo bass?Anything else about the synth engine edit ability ?Too shallow or is it varied anough? And are you thinking of getting sampler version?
Cheers and don't worry if you can't answer all questions.I prob have loads more but don't want to bombard you(too much).

I still have my emx, its a classic, and I see no reason why the new one won't be either.
Congrats!

I did a tutorial demonstrating how to get a heavy 808-style kick, specifically. Not exactly what you asked, but relevant with the EMX2 or any other synth engine:

Hi @Tarekith
I was wondering if I could fire a similar question at you?-
What are you most excited about ,is it the synth engine or are you going to get the sampler aswell? Are you going to use it with other gear much as a seq?(Any plans for it with the OP-1)?

For me it's mainly going to be a live pa tool, initially probably just on it's own (sold the OP-1 a few months ago). I will likely get the sampler version as well if the new Electribe and I bond as well as I think we will, but I'll have to get some lengthy hands on time before I know that for sure.

Really I just miss having an all in one groovebox to create ideas on, either to perform live or as the starting point of a studio song. I cut my teeth with grooveboxes, it's just how I naturally like to write music an perform. So really I'm exceited about all of it, from the new performance capabilities, so the sound engine and new drum samples.

Thanks for the reply @Tarekith.
I've got to go off topic here ..
Why did you sell the little OP1?

I really, really liked the OP-1, but I realized it wasn't going to be the centerpiece of a composing or performing set up for me like I had hoped. Neat, but not featured enough for what I was looking for at the time. An opportunity came up to sell it for basically what I paid for it at the same time the new Electribes were announced, so I jumped.

I'd buy one again in a heartbeat once I get a bit more free cash.

A quote from a person on another forum (Could be cock & bull, dunno )

...
Rumours suggest Korg may be extending the bar count in a future update. I can see this working if, say, the bar counter 1 flashes on bar 5, counter 2 flashes on bar 6 etc.
First i've heard of it !

I'm playing with patterns, checkin' stuff out, getting into it. Made some patterns & they are good but i'm putting them all on ice until i work out some kind of organised method to get some live recordings out. Still bewildered by the interface so it's not become clear yet & i'm pretty hap-hazzard so it'll take me some time to find fluidness. I kinda tend to mess about until it becomes habit & that takes some natural time. When i get there i'll share it.
The patterns i've made are good (imo) , or at leat i like them anyway but being stuck in 4 bars is a new territory for me so i have to find my footing before it becomes fluid enough. No races here, just taking the time likey !

You cannot escape or turn off the quantize?

(Like you can on Gadget..)

The best you can do is set to 16th triplets - that equals 1/48ths?

Not sure I understand the workflow yet, but isn't it possible to chain two patterns together and then record on top, in effect giving you eight measures?

Frankly, if it were not for the gap issue (& i support the word 'issue') then i would have already recorded a tune or two ! As for recording on top of tw different patterns, it's just not gonna happen until Korg fix the pattern change glitch, Not possible.
I've heard it said that the 'gap' issue isn't too bad' but really, for me, it is too bad.

I look forward to a firmware fix, either that or a future of 4 bar lock !
