I think the issue (for those who are disappointed) is because we know korg could have made something that really raised the bar and its not clear why they have not.
If the new tribe had offered all the features of the old plus all the new enhancements (improved sound engine etc) everyone would be happy.
The marketing, not the design

I understand that point. You guys wanted something new to work with to enhance what you already loved. I not only understand, I agree that there's been a big letdown for you guys.immon wrote:I think the issue (for those who are disappointed) is because we know korg could have made something that really raised the bar and its not clear why they have not.

To me, the only problem is the people that go out to attack not only the product, but those who enjoy it. Of course this goes both ways. There's also no reason to put down a product that shaped music production for so long, and inspired a highly dedicated user-base, just because a new one came out that you like better. They are BOTH GREAT MACHINES. They can both be used to make GREAT MUSIC. The problem is really in the users, and their individual preferences.
Also, tbh, I love the new electribe, and when I had one, I loved the esx-1. I personally feel that the new electribe fits my needs far better and opens alot of doors that weren't open before (TO ME). However, to get back to the point of the thread, the big issue that even I have with this product is what's been happening behind the scenes. The release, marketing, and communication is almost non-existent. In fact the only good thing BESIDES the machine itself has been the amount that the electribe community and been interacting and getting involved with itself.
