2GB of preloaded data. How long does it take to load 2GB in real time? 20 minutes or more?

That's the thing about samplers. Short of a streaming sample player, there is NEVER enough memory. A decent grand piano alone can be well over 2GB by today's top VSTi standards.

Preloading the sampler is one way to speed things up, if your needs are quite basic. But once you get addicted to how good samples can be, 2GB of preloaded content is a drop in the ocean...

Nonsense, the samples are not loaded, but directly played from ROM and flash RAM

Hi Friends:

Since time when sounds are software manipulated, talk about start up time on new synths or arrangers have no sense.- What i think is most important, is having a hight class UPS with power protection.- This is critical everytime.-
A good UPS is also important when upgrade OS; during update process, if power goes down, unespected issues could happend.-
With a good UPS you are sure that when power goes down your synth or keyboard is still on for at least 30 minutes, and if electrical power on your country is unstable, this ensure you to have allways the same tensions; this will preserv internal circuit from unespected overload.-
We must care our keyboards the same way we protect pc.-
I've been using UPS since last 10 year and no hardware issues.-
It's important to choose a high class UPS; cheap one's don't filter electrical impurities, and pass noises to your outputs.-
This is just a suggestion.-
With regards.
Eduardo
