KLC and El Capitan?

Post by Mystic »

Has anyone tried using the KLC plugins (especially the Wavestation and/or M1) with Logic Pro X under El Capitan yet? I have heard that a lot of plugins are having compatibility issues with the new OS version, and am worried that the same may be true of the Korg plugins (and worse, that the latter may not be getting any more compatibility updates).

None of the Legacy products are working for me.

Very frustrating.

Does anyone know how I can escalate this to Korg?

Bummer ... sorry to hear that. I'd think the best bet is to inquire with Korg support (I've just done so myself, since their website lists compatibility data up through Yosemite but doesn't mention El Capitan):

Same here: KLC Wavestation not working in Logic Pro X and OS X 10.11.1.

Actually I also have a hardware Wavestation (the A/D), but the software version is *much* more comfortable to use — hope it's updated soon.

See my latest post in the thread below for a (paraphrased) response from Korg Support about El Capitan:

I wonder if someone with El Capitan installed and the KLC could retest whether or not the KLC plugins properly register with Logic Pro X in the wake of the 10.11.1 update from Apple? Another company with a bunch of plugins that also stopped working under El Capitan is saying that the 10.11.1 release fixes those problems, so perhaps there is a chance it resolves the KLC problems as well. But someone other than I will have to test it, as I'm not upgrading my DAW until I know it is safe to do so.

It's nice that it says that and all, but can someone, anyone who actually owns the product verify whether it is working for them in the real world? I'm still hesitant to upgrade when I've yet to hear from a single person for whom KLC is working in El Capitan.

All KLC plugins hard crashes Ableton Live and Maschine, with El Capitan - doesn't matter if it's AU or VST.

I'm on a 2008 MacBook Pro, so it might be an older CPU issue. Very frustrating because I just bought the entire collection last month during the holiday sale.

Hmm. These mixed signals about KLC's compatibility have scared me off from upgrading my OS for the foreseeable future. Thanks for sharing your experience, negative though it might be. I hope you figure out a solution.

I've just updated from Mavericks to El Capitan and lo and behold: All KLC plugins (AU) are working in Logic. Procedure: Fresh install of OS X 10.11 on a new SSD, followed by a migration of all files from the old Mavericks HD. Took a while but everything works like a charm.
