Korg Forums

It would be great if developers will tease/inspire us here what is being done in current pre-release Kronos OS. What new functions/bugfixes are being implemented. And when these updates will be published. If it is not commercial secret of course) Thanks.

Would be nice but I wouldn't count on it. Korg has always been very quiet about future developments.

Roland, Yamaha are quiet also. all employees/contractors sign an NDA.

It's true, but I think this non-disclosure agreement refers only to a new products/concepts, whereas Kronos isn't new concept anymore. Even more, this can boost sales even higher, and some people can buy Kronos for its future features.) Anyway, let's wait for some official responce here.

Lol I remember replying to a similar post years ago when I used to be part of the roland fantomized forum. I stated the obvious and had furious fanatic fantom bunnies angry at me.

Ok IMO that would never happen. Simply because this keyboards manufactures just like roland and Yamaha are all the way in Japan.
Japan is very far away we all know. Lol
And all updates comes from their headquarters measured in what they think is important for the company first.

I am sure they never ever looked at forums such as these to gauge what is needed.

We are very lucky o have Rich kindly popping in here willing to give us a hand.
But in the end the company in Japan will only listen to what they want to, if even.

Yeah, Japan is far away from Europe, but just next to the ocean to US San-Francisco is closest to Tokyo, I guess.)

So, may be we have to learn Japaneese, and find one of Korg's programmers somewhere on the Net and make friends with him and ask him what does he do for Kronos)))

But seriously speaking I think such a global company as Korg, at least has an international market monitoring/marketing crew. Which can/must read these forums to be competitive..

Companies don't talk about work in progress because it may or may not ever be completed in its current form / with its current features, and released; they don't know how long it may take; and they don't want to be held responsible if things that don't work out ("...but last month you said it was going to be able to do this..."

The idea that superheros or spies are hired by the company to secretly look forums with the intent to report back and get things done really cracks me up!!!! Specially when I think of the fantom G users doing a petition back then... maybe we shoall do the same hhahaha

As long as they read the discusiions.. And act according to what the general opinion and wishes of the customers are its okay... But when you look at most improvements to Kronos those are not the things discussed on these boards..

Korg Italy recently released the pa4x from which i came to the conclusion that they really missed out most of the customers wishes...

Korg probably looks at the things customers ask for but only a select few will ever be addressed. The Kronos wish list is 41 pages. Implement them all and it's not even a Kronos anymore but some strange new beast.

Another reason companies won't discuss future developments is they don't want to give that information to the competition.

Which is simple to guess after all they have a life too . IMO there is three things they would probably do if they read forum stuff :

1) they would probably be jumping out of a building. hahah kidding
2) get the ideas and update the gear
3) Get on with life till the next project calls up.

For instance ( if you guys have a minute 'cause after all you all must have a life too) take a look at TC helicon forum.
The developers have their ears wide open to costumers even when bombarded with suggestions critics etc. They continue to honour costumers by regurlalry updating the gear and solving bugs accordingly AND discussing possible and not possible updates specifically. (I'm a proud owner of voicelive 3).

WHICH korg also does to some extent as Bachus mentioned. But as I said at my first rant but it takes a dam while for parts of the essential requests/info to get to Japanese years

haha I really like the idea of discovering a Japanese developer that works for Korg on facebook and become friends with ideas benefits

No, I don't have a copy of NDA. The key word is "i think"

I like this name because it is close to sacred AUM in hindu religion which means God.

Unlimited because they will have DAWs as presets inside of them and fully expandable/open architecture allowing musician to upgrade CPU/motherboard/ram/DAC/ADC, etc. And no fans inside - I'll make a heat sink 1 meter long at the back of my synth and connect Core i7 cpu to it via heat pipes. Same goes to PSU. That's it - no fans.. In winter gigs you can warm your hands on that multi-purpose sink..)))

There's a wonderfull open-source DAW called VST board. It allows flexible patching and routing of everything inside it. Also it allows switching between 128 VST setups -manually or by midi.

I will only update Widows/Linux shell. It is also possible to mimic the GUI of Kronos..)) But I won't do that not to be punished by Korg's lawyers))
