Did you first make sure you have the latest PA3X OS?
Was the PA3X a new one or used?
Have you checked whether all battery status indicators are OK?
Can you get the store to send you an exchange RAM module?

i did change mine, it took me about half an hour to figure it out.
So in your case, I will recommend that you need to open and completely un-install or take the 256MB memory card out , and Re-insert it back...Make sure it sit firm and traight before inserting the memory card into the slot. And lock it tight with two lock spring on both side ended.and re-stard your keyboard.
Good luck !

Maybe you don't and memory card is defective !
Do the following :
- Plug back the old 128 Mb Ram
- Go to Sound/record/sample edit/ upper screen roll down meny / delete and choose all samples and multisamples.
- Choose info tab and confirm that remaing memory is 1398 seconds which means that your Pa3X has no problem !
- Turn off Pa3X , switch Ram boards (with new 256 Mb Ram) be sure that safety clips are properly closed and turn on Pa3X.
- Go to Sound/record/sample edit/info and there are two occasions :
1. Remaining memory is 2796 seconds and all are fine
2. Remaining memory is 0 and your new Ram module is defected and must be replaced.

Thanks to all
I did everything right ... but I do not understand what happens ??? After placing the memory 256 ...
the sampling information is:
Mono Time: 1398 s.
Bytes: 134217896
Larguest block: 134217896
.... I think it is not so .....
I have installed the OS 1.63
any suggestions ???
thanks again

Do not bother with OS or anything else , it doesn't matter at all ...
If after installing the new Ram module and after : Sound/record/sample edit/ upper screen roll down meny /
delete / all samples and multisamples , info shows 1398 sec of remaining memory then by 99,9 % Ram
module they gave you is 128 Mb and not 256 ...
Demand a replacement !
Hope this helps
PS If you examine ram chips label on board of both Ram modules , you can easily find out if your
new ram module is indeed 256 MB (4 ICs)
