I want to mod my monotron(s) to be sequenced by my SQ-1

Hi,
I am looking to mod my monotron duo, and less likely but possibly the delay, and I was thinking of having my SQ-1 sequencing one or both.
If I mod the duo would it be possible to have hookups for each VCO? im new to synths and have little experience with working on PCBs/etc. from what i gather it seems like i could have a CV A going to VCO 1, and/or CV B to VCO 2.
with play modes of SQ-1 i could have up to 16 step sequence with VCO 1, or up to 8 step with VCO 1 and/or VCO 2. does that sound right?
i feel that i will prefer to have my SQ-1 dedicated (for now
) to drive my monotrons for more hands-free capability.
if i decide to go that route what other mods are recommended (more basic, useful, and convenient to add) that i should look into while i do the work?
