Play Volca keys via MIDI

I have my keys hooked up via midi (DAW is Ableton live).
I can play the keys no problem.
However, when i start the DAW it seems the keys is syncing via the midi clock and playing an internally stored pattern.
How can i get it to play from the midi in, and not just sync?

You have to clear out the pattern - hold function and press the clear / all key (far right keyboard button)
