I am looking for the most efficient way to get creative with an arranger keyboard.

If you are an advanced arranger performer, can you offer some suggestions of what kinds of things you started doing once you deeply understood how to use an arranger in a live performance?

Any advanced tutorials available on professional performance techniques? I find them to save me a LOT of time over just experimenting blindly myself.

That is what I am doing now. Experimenting. It can be fun, but it is slower than if advanced techniques are explained by someone professional with more experience.

I can see that you must think like a band leader/conductor and not *primarily* as a player. You should not be spending time duplicating what the arranger can do. You should let it "play" to the maximum and you do what you as a composer-improviser can do.

I have a PA900 that I am using to learn on, and then I plan to upgrade.

I would say prepare you performance settings before you go out.

LCM electronic keyboard books, also Trinity College Electronic Keyboard books. All for arranger keyboards. In there you'll find detailed performances and scores for performances like the links below. The last two links are for graded exams, which are very useful and not many know about. The supporting books and publications for the exams are an excellent way to really learn to use the arranger keyboard in a more masterful way than usual. You basically choose several pieces to learn and perform, and they are judged by professionals. There is a fee, and it goes to charity. Alternatively, you can just buy the books and do it all on your own. In the books you'll find stuff that usually takes years to learn.
