Control the Kaoss series with standard MIDI equipment

Hello everyone,

while I find the touch pad control of the Korg Kaoss Series to be great for live performances. Sometimes I would like to control them via standard MIDI keyboards/seuquencers/DAWs. Unfortunately, Korg's MIDI implementation is tailored around the touch pad and expects ControlChange Message indicating X/Y coordinates instead of Note On/Off messages.

As a solution, I made an absolutely beginner friendly, solder-free free hack, that uses a 12,- Teensy development board to translate all corresponding MIDI commands:

Pretty cool! The lack of note data handling always made the KPpro seem like an ill-conceived product to me, so great job setting this up and providing all the instructions!

Yeah, pretty cool. My K-Pro is pretty much collecting dust for lack of integration.

Would be nice if there was DIN connection on board though.

Thanks :)

DIN connection is very easy to integrate, and the thing will then also work without the necessity of a computer as a man in the middle.
However, one needs to solder some parts...

I will post instructions in a couple of days...

A couple of days became a couple of weeks. However, here is the update for MIDI DIN in/outs:

Play the Korg Kasossialtor and Kaoss Pad with any MIDI equipment
