Jens lead - how to set resonance to joystick up press ?

Hi guys
Im working on a Jens Johansson lead for triton extreme and getting quite close ; im wondering how i can assign the resonance control to pressing the joystick UP (not right like a bend up, straight up) to get that shrill shreik sound he does with his mod wheel.
some people say he filters in an octave lower sound with the mod wheel but that would not explain the crazy harmonic shreik , which , going by ear, i think is resonance?
Any help assigning that to UP would be great !
