Trigger a sound on a specific key

I have a combination with a piano, a pad sound and some bass. There is one moment during the song I would like to trigger a one-time bell sound. I am looking for a solution to do this.

Currently, I copied the combination two times (so it is three times present in the set list). The second version has an additional program for the bell sound with the keyboard zone limited to one key. This does work, but there are many notes played around the bell sound, so I have to be very quick advancing to the next combination. Furthermore, changing the combination sometimes cuts of one or two notes.

I think there could be some way to do this more elegantly using only one combination...?

Hi OboKeyDrum,

Did you try using KARMA without running modules, see this trick :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Oaglzc ... ature=plcp

You'll find into the forum the steps but the idea is :
When KARMA is ON, you can play on MIDI channel 1G that produce notes on channel 2.

So your bell sound should be on channel 2.
KARMA Module A is configured to play on channel 2.
You activated the Timbre Thru for module A to hear current programs on channel 1G/Gch (default).

Now, when you activate KARMA you'll will hear the bell sound and when KARMA is off, no bell sound.

But, even if you assign a pedal switch to KARMA on/off, you need to press the KARMA button while playing.

Bye.

Why not just assigned the bell sign to either the top or bottom key of your keyboard, and then transpose it to play the correct note. I've done this many times in the past and it works quite well.

Another way is to go to the PADS page and assign a pad to the channel that the bell is on. Play the whole keyboard for your main sound, tap the onscreen pad for the bell.

Thank you for your input. I ended up using a combination of both top / lower keys and the pad (for the simple reason that apparently one can not transpose more than 60 half tones).

There are several ways you can add to the 60 semi-tone tranposition:

You can use TONE ADJUST to Transpose another 60 semi-tones. Each program in a Combi has its own Tone Adjust.

You can gain another octave (+-12) on each Program's OSC/PITCH page. In Combi, just select EDIT PROGRAM from the dropdown menu.

You can gain another 3 octaves (+-36) by going to the KARMA GE page, de-select RUN and select "In Thru Z" and then Transpose. Make sure that the KARMA switch is on and that your program is on the same channel that the module is.

Wow, I am learning new things about the Kronos every day. Thank you very much!

I still do not quite understand why there is a limitation of 60 semi-tones...
