What do you aspect in the kronos's successor?

Most important feature, the possibility to use the Exs sounds library that I already bought for my kronos :P

Then...I don't know....maybe a super knob? LOL 😁 Mmm... No

Anyway I don't think that Korg is ready for a new Kronos, no competitors no rush

It better have some level of backward compatibility. I still haven't converted all M3 combis to the Kronos.

At least Yamaha has maintained an upgrade path.

I would like to see them expand on the Kronos because the frame work is there. Updates on the technology inside or perhaps custom casing designs. Improved sequencer etc.

It seems redundant do do anything else. Most people are happy with their Kronos? When you have that situation, why not keep working on it? Work with it to swap out the internal components to make it even more powerful. Give it a VGA port or something for an external screen.

So a system where we can upgrade our Kronos via them or doing it ourselves, would be a great I think. We're talking about computer components here. It's not impossible

the possibility to inspect the internal hard drive of our Kronos : so we could make some deleted songs reborn...

Kronos OS isn't like Windows, that you can slap unto almost any random jumble of components and it will boot. It's not even like OSX, which uses a specifically selected set of chipsets but allows third party manufacturers to write drivers for compatibility. I don't see it as very likely that it will ever be possible to change the hardware inside your Kronos the way you do with your PC. That said, I would expect a successor to have more powerful hardware. If only because the current hardware is becoming hard to get.

- Automatic load of the songs at the boot.
- Creation of a combo from a song.
- TV out
- Multiple slot selection in the set list for a quicker copy&paste.

"Multiple slot selection in the set list for a quicker copy&paste." - maybe I'm wrong, but already exist in OS 3.0, or not?

Hello SanderXpander : I understand clearly what you say. Yes the operating system of the Kronos is not our property but our songs inside the hard drive belong to us, then : we should be able to interact on them

Unless there is a quantum leap in capability (like the original Kronos was) I will stick with the Kronos until that happens because for me it means transitioning 250+ sequences to a new platform. That takes a long long time.

If they made it easily (or al least easier) to convert, then I would be ready to make a move earlier. I expect a 4-5 year life expectancy from a hardware workstation and I got the Kronos 2 right after it came out (it is my second Kronos). But that would be the one feature that could make me move on.

Also worth mentioning is that I assume it will be a Korg based on what the current state of hardware workstations is; that is subject to change, but does't seem likely.

Oh that would be good, I still haven't upgraded to the v3, I might think to do it, it's just that I hate to have the set list with all the colors, I love the plain black, to me it looks much more readable and you can easily see the selected slot.
Just a personal taste tho.

All colors of rainbow at most of the pictures - just the example, you can easely choose each color or enable "old view". In this case all items will have only one, orange color as in OS 2.0

Oh great, thanks for that :)

How about a Undo command in the Sequencer mode atleast 5-10 levels deep? With the Compare button, you only get a 1 level undo. At this day and age of Linux OS, this shouldn't be that complicated, no?
