Hi all. I need to cover the Aah vocal sound live that runs through out the song I'm not in love by 10CC. I also need to play the piano parts as well. I want to do this the easiest way possible short of sampling or sequencing as we don't play to a click in my band. I want to use aftertouch to control the volume dynamics of the Aah vocal only. And maybe use the morphing joystick to bring Aahs in and out. I also want to create a drone Aah vocal for the middle break. How would you do these things with Kronos? Any help will be appreciated.

looks like a challenge. The Rhodes part sounds/looks like a 2 hand part.

Yes. And that is the issue. I can sort of fake it by having the Aahs play what the piano is doing and maybe fading in the Aahs with aftertouch. But I don't know how that's done. Also the Aah drone I would like to put on 1 key and make it latch on if possible. All this in 1 combi with scene control. Maybe impossible for a novice programming person like me.

its definitely a work around. The ahhs and bababa's are working independently of the EP.

maybe have your left hand manage the ahhs using your expression pedal ( which fade in/fade/out the ahhh program) plus whatever LH piano work. RH will carry the rhodes part.

It would be an interesting combi.

Gonna do some experimenting with my Nano Pad 2 as well. maybe put Rhodes chords on the pads and do Aahs with right hand. Well we shall see what works. Looks like I'll be up all night tonight ha!

I doubt that the commerciel music sheet of this song contains the real chord structure of the aaaahs... A very good ear is needed for this one song

Ha Ha, yes 10CC spent a great deal of time and effort overdubbing vocals and swirling them around. The good thing for me is you can cheat live by stacking Aah vocal programs (I'm using vintage tape choir+Dream Voices) and lots of verb to give the impression. Most people in the audience will not (I hope) notice the missing parts in the wash of Aahs.

Thank you for those links. After watching that documentary maybe we should just play an acoustic version of the song and let it go lol!

i think thats wise ! I am not not even sure what 10cc did with it live

if you have a great singer, that should carry it. I would skip that bass solo in the middle

I would just play a Rhodes sound on the Kronos and run the vocals through a TC-Helicon Voicelive to trigger a 4-Part Choir or better yet, trigger a vocorder.

Don't have a voicelive, but I have thought about the vocoder. I have a decent one in my Alesis Ion which I can control with the Kronos, but that would require me to take an extra board out for just 1 song. I'm not to sure about doing vocoding with the Kronos. Never tried it and some here have said it's not that great. The TC-Helicon may be a good bit of kit to have for this and other songs we do (Fat Bottom Girls springs to mind) so worth investigating. Thanks for the suggestions.

Wow, if you wouldn't mind sharing it, I would love to give it a go. Do you have audio or video of you playing the song? Thanks for any help.

If you have a PCG of this, I would like it to.

For the Kronos ? Which version ?

Thanks
