why did KORG remove chord trigger buttons on the Krome ?
Thinking of upgrading my M50 to a Krome...but I really do not understand why Korg has deleted the fantastic chord trigger buttons (M3 also had them). Is there any alternative for this ?
Agree, it is a significant omission by Korg. One way round it would be to keep the M50 and connect the two using MIDI cables.
The Triton Taktile allows playing of chords, but I don't think they can be set up quite like the M50's can, although four notes can be assigned for each Trigger Pad in the Note/Control mode. Then there's the Keith McMillen 12-step pedalboard that allows up to 5 note chords to be assigned to each foot button. It would also need a KMI MIDI Expander to hook up to the Krome. The 12-step has the advantage of being able to play a chord whilst both hands are free to keep on playing, although it can also be used as a hand controlled button bank. It is quite a financial outlay, though.
