Korg PA900 extra sounds.

Post by Nat72 »

Hi, just had to rejoin the site as I can't remember my old user name or the email i signed up with :? had a Kronos a few years ago.
Anyway I've just purchased a PA900 and wondered if anyone knows where I can download additional sounds like piano's , synths and pads etc ? but especially piano's.
Many thanks in advance.

You might like to try these pianos

They include various versions of Antony Sharmmans free Steinway as well as some re-configured Grand Touch pianos.

Found some old posts on here with links to Steinway piano's and various guitars, unfortunately the links are no longer working :(
Does anyone have these sounds which they would be willing to share with me , I'd be ever so grateful.

My understanding is that the Pa900 can also import SoundFont files so you might find some of the Guitar Soundfonts I have put together on my site of interest. The smaller piano should work also.
https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/

I can't verify how easy it is to do this as I have the Pa3x which can't import SoundFonts. I play these sounds using a $60 midi keyboard from Aldi and they sound as good as my Pa3x!
Cheers,
John

Thanks again John for sharing your files really appreciate it :D
Loaded in the Steinway set and they sound great , love the Steinway bright 2 and 3 piano's.
I shall download the guitars and try them when I get home.

Hi,
I've just bought a used PA900 and collected it yesterday.
Like Nat, I'm looking for a very good piano sound. Is there a particular Piano sound that stands out compared to all the others. I don't have any samples currently loaded therefore I guess I have 192mb free to play with. I don't mind if the file takes up a large chunk of that.
The other question is can I improve on the Wet Tine E.P. built into the PA900 ? What I mean by this, is can I somehow obtain a sample of the Wet Tine E.P. from the PA3X or the PA4X (which would be better quality) and load it into the available sample memory (192mb) ?
I'm going to spend the next few days getting the hang of how it all works, and would appreciate any help Forum members can give.
Chris

p.s. Is there a no.1 go to website for downloading good quality PA samples ?

Hi Nemik,

It seems that these pianos are only available for the PA3X. They require 180mb for the actual samples and 90mb of free space to use them which I assume is a total required of 270mb. The PA900 only comes with 192mb of sample storage space.
Many thanks for the link though.

Chris
This means 180MB uncompressed, Pa3x has system which compress Samples, means for Pa3x you need only 90MB.
With Pa900 you will fine.
Just to be sure send PM to Tony and ask him, he explain you better.

Hi all,

Just thought I better mention, I purchased the PA900 used for an excellent price. The reason I purchased the PA900 was because I cannot afford a PA4X or even a used PA3X. My budget is fairly limited, therefore to pay up to 150 euros for a piano sample for the PA900 is not a viable proposition for me currently. If somebody knows of a good piano sample that is not very expensive, can you please let me know. I am looking at the Dynamix Piano samples which at a slightly more modest 60 euros is probably more affordable for me. I would still like to hear what other PA900 users rely on for their main piano sound.

Many thanks

Chris

Hi Nemik,
My fault entirely. I should have made myself clearer.
One thing I do know, is that if other Forum members are as helpful as you have been then sorting out problems with my PA900 will be easy. (I tend to just play and not do too many complex things with my keyboards).
A big thank you,
Chris
p.s. Today I am going to load Dopamine 2.6 and his latest voices pack, which hopefully will have a piano on it.

Just saw that ... first of all dear Chris , this is not just "a piano sample" but a pianos suite of very advanced development
(sample modeling) of wavesArt with 3 of the worlds best Grand Pianos (180 Mb size uncompressed) that definately do not deserve
a Pa900 ... that's why this collection is only for Pa4X & Pa3X 76 keybed keyboards where it can justify the already low cost
(of pianos that compete Kronos) and only for pianists !

The best pianos you can get bellow 100 $ for cheaper PaSeries , are for free and you can download them from downloading
TAB of international section of www.pastyles.com or just try Reuben modified versions !
