EMC STYLE WORKS XT, User opinions and/or advice

Post by Willfhenley »

I use my PA500 in, what I've come to learn, a strange manner. I use it as an additional Midi Controller for my DAW Sonar Platinum. I've found that the PA Styles, when played through a high end DAW, that my PA500 rivals even a PA4X in instrument realism.

With that said, editing or creating styles with the PA500 is a difficult, time consuming task. I'm very interested in purchasing the EMC STYLE WORKS XT but I would like to hear from users before making the investment. A few questions :

1) Will styleworks allow you to copy a standard midi file into a variation, intro, ending or pad?
2) Does the midi file imported have to be in format 0 or 1?
3) Would you recommend this product to a friend?
PA500, Sonar Platinum, Komplete 10, Roland Sonic Cell, EMU0404PCIExpress, Impact LX88, Roland A300, SY77, EMU PK6

I have the XT version 4.5 without doubt is very useful, you can create styles from a midi file, reads all formats, even the modified .mid .kar.
With a midi select the part you want to use for intros and ending in melody, for variations and fill and neutral. If you connect to the PC MIDI, you can change the sounds directly from the program. I really recommend it, it is a great help to create styles and convert other brands. Like, usually a later reissue inside the keyboard is always necessary. It takes time to learn to use it, but when I grab the hand is very useful.
