This is a question for a MIDI expert (which is definitely not me!).
I am using my Korg TR (non-weighted keys) as a control keyboard for some of the Kronos2 sounds (synth / organ). I am using Setlist to change through Combis and Progs.
In one Combi, half-way through the tune I turn on the SW1 switch on the TR to add an effect. Then in Setlist I change to the next Combi. The TR SW1 switch remains "on" (ie lit up) because changing the Kronos Combi doesn't change any of the controls on the TR. The trouble is that the effects in the new Combi that the SW1 turn on are not active, and I have to turn the TR's SW1 switch off then on again to get the desired sound (which I don't really have time for).
Is there a way that I can send a signal to the TR when I change Combis that will turn off the SW1 switch, or alternatively recognise the TR's switch is "On" and add the effect?
I hope that's clear enough.

Thanks for the thought. I can't find any way of using the Kronos switch to change the sound that I am controlling from the TR. I have to have the TR set so that I use its controls to make real time changes to the sounds I am playing through it.
I thought perhaps if I changed the way the Prog was set so that the SW1 switch was on, that might transfer into the Combi, but unfortunatey that doesn't work when the sound is controlled by the TR either.
The only other option I can think of is for the Kronos to send a MIDI signal to the TR to change the Combi as that would reset the TR's SW1 switch to off. But I don't know how to do that (although I think it can be done).

Hi,
I'm not in my Kronos at the moment but I can give you a tip that might hopefully help you.
in GLOBAL mode we have the option to filter which parameter that we want or we don't want to control from device to device. in my thoughts you have to disable the program and combi from that filter. so it won't throw any midi signal when you are pressing modes or switches from either TR or Kronos. you just want the TR as a keyboard controller not a surface controls right?
Hope this will help.

Hi.
The problem is that I do want to be able to use the real time controls on the TR to control the Kronos sounds it is playing m(I presume that's what you mean by using the suface controls).
For example, the TR has SW1 set to CC#80. For one of the synth sounds the TR is playing on the Kronos, I turn on SW1 half way through a solo to give a fuller sound. I find it easier to control this (and indeed other parameters like attack or release) from the TR for those sounds I'm playing on the TR.
Another option I have would be to change the TR Combi at the same time as I change the Kronos Combi (which would essentially set the SW1 back to off). Because I am changing the Kronos Combi through Setlist (I actually do it with a foot pedal so I can keep playing), I would ideally find a way for the change in Kronos Combi to automatically (ie through MIDI) tell the TR to change Combi as well.
Anyone know if this is possible? (I'm relatively new to using MIDI).
Thanks
