Hi all,

I'm playing abroad next month and they are providing a kronos so I don't have to bring mine. What is the best way to recreate my own kronos configuration? Shall I bring my laptop and export the Kronos editor settings (Would that work properly) or is there a better method?

Google search the forum for some advice

If you are absolutley sure you are getting the same version kronos as you have, as in new Kronos 2 for new kronos 2, or Kronos X for kronos X, then no need worry.
Do a complete save of your kronos and take it with you. Also take a copy of your software update just incase the one you get is not updated.
If you have a kronos 1 and they give you a kronos 2, there can be complications and you better search the forum for details about how to handle it. Software updating makes a difference if the two kronos are to share content over two different software versions.
original Kronos and Kronos X will be the same in terms of file content compatibility, but new Kronos 2 will be different in terms of the slot arrangement of sounds on file. You may have issues finding your sounds but i suspect if you know them by name, the "find" function on the latest software contemporary to kronos 2, will help ease the strain.

PCG tools is always recommended for these situations but i also heard(hear-say-not sure) the latest software update sorts out issues crossing content between earlier versions of kronos to the latetst version of kronos.

Best bet will be to be sure to get the same version of Kronos as you already have and take a copy of your needed Song, PCG with all kge and ksc options included in the save. A complete "Save all" on exteranl USB storage never hurt anybody nor made the storage device heavier to carry.

Only other possible problem i can think of is if you need any non standard libraries you may have purchased separately. I think the license for these is tied to one specific Kronos.

Yup, this is the one that I dread...

If you made your own userbanks with (multi) samples, just ensure you made backups with the samples IN the file. Contrary to what many users think, the "save all" command is not enough for that, as the newly created userbank will only refer to the samples on your internal HD. With Save All you will NOT get you a transferrable userbank that you can use on another Kronos.
