stereo to mono samples
I have loaded in some drum sounds which I assumed were mono, because they look mono in the mpc software.
but when I load these samples into the electribe they come up as stereo; so can I turn these into mono sounds within the sampler

Re: stereo to mono samples
I think you can resample them as mono but not sure as I'm at work and don't have my electribe to hand. Of course that would mean you have two versions - mono and stereo - in your .all file so you would have to remove the stereo version manually via a PC unless you can overwrite the stereo with the mono when resampling.jpeg wrote:I have loaded in some drum sounds which I assumed were mono, because they look mono in the mpc software.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You can certainly resample them and remove the stereo versions as suggested above and export an updated allsample file.
It would be a good idea to export the individual resamples as separate mono WAV samples too - for future filing and stuff.
I dont think doing that export would overwrite the original stereo sample WAVS on the card - you would need delete them using a pc
You might want to check the beginning of the resamples - there could be some very slight space before the sample sounds that needs trimming.
While you are at it it's probably worthwhile to experiment layering kicks/snares to get some different permutations and resample those.

Resampling from stereo to mono, or to 16bit etc., is an easy and fast task, using s/w such as DBpoweramp.

Well the thing is, I use DBpoweramp integrated into my right click menu, so conversion is a matter of click a sample and go for me. Just thought someone else might be interested in, what I've found to be the very fastest and IMO most convenient way to convert a single sample or even a batch or them. Audacity, being great freeware, is fair enough too, and doesn't take long to launch (if not already running), but each to their own I guess..
