Sample Memory/Hard Disc Memory

Post by stevomuzo2 »

I have set KSC auto load to load a couple of banks into RAM together with the standards PRELOAD.KSC and it says that after having loaded this on startup, I have 500Mb left for sampling. I have the Kronos 2 and 3Gb of memory but am curious about installing an additional SSD. Firstly, I don't have the necessary skills to be able to do it myself so does anybody know roughly how much a Korg Service Centre would charge to do it if I supplied the drive. Secondly, can I sample directly to the SSD drive or set up the KSC to load from the SSD to free up additional RAM for sampling. I am getting very confused how loading certain EXs only uses a certain amount of RAM but a different amount of Virtual Memory or Hard Drive Space - have I missed this particular chapter in the manual re memory usage/allocation? Sorry if the question has already been asked.
Thanks
Steve
