Convert MP3 (or wave) to Pad

I am new to pads, although working out how to use them is pretty simple. And very handy.
I have a library of sound effects that I have built up over the years, such as a wide range of nature sounds, door slams, rain on the roof, and so.
I have perused the User Manual, but it is very complex to me.
All I want to do is convert each of these to a simple pad 'hit' (ie no looping, no pitch correction, or anything else fancy).
Is that possible, where would I start?
Many thanks.

you can loop wave files for pad playing, also one-shot setting available at record pad mode, exploring youtube will help you

you need to create new DK and import wave sample there assigning to keys your choice.
Then create new pad, track type DR and set Pad type for One Shot.
You need set Pad Sync.
Off --->No synchronization. The sequence will start as soon as you press the PAD button.
Continued -->Like a Fill, the pattern will start immediately, in sync with the Arranger’s or active Player’s Tempo. Depending on the current position of the beat counter, it might not start from its very beginning; instead, it will continue from the current position.
For example, if the Arranger’s or Player’s beat counter shows the third beat, and is playing tick 91, the Pad will start from its third beat, at tick 91.
Beat --> The sequence will start at the next beat, in sync with the Arranger’s or Player’s Tempo. It will start from its very beginning (that is, tick 1 or measure 1).
Then record one note (one you wanna effect) edit if nessary and save it.

Thanks Nemick I think I now understand the principle that you are explaining, I cannot see any mention of this in the user manual but I have software to edit the file and will see what I can do
Thanks again

Pa3x has limit is a maximum of 21.8 seconds is allowed for
each sample.
Same for mono and stereo sample.
for Pa4x:
Korg Pa4x User Manual on Page# 451 wrote:You can load samples (mono or stereo) in a 8 or 16-bit resolution, and a
sampling frequency rate from 11,025 to 48,000Hz. Loaded samples always
preserve their original resolution.
If the sample exceeds the maximum size allowed (1,048,576 samples, corresponding
to 1 Megasample, either mono or stereo), it will be truncated. A
warning will appear in the display.
