D16XD won't turn off

I'll try here.
You were helpful once before, and I hardly ever get any responses to D16XD questions on the Korg forum site.
Is there a startup button sequence to go into diagnostics mode for a D16XD?
When I try to shut down my D16XD, by pushing the "on-deck" power switch for 3 seconds, and then pushing the "yes" soft button in the menu that pops up,
the saving wheel spins, and spins, but the deck will not turn off, unless I push the main power button on the back off.
I can save changes, prior to shut down, by accessing another menu, so I have no problems saving songs. So far, everything else works fine, but I would sure like to correct this. Or turn the automatic saving default off, so it would just shut off without saving.
Any ideas or experience with this?
