What do you play with Pa4X?
Hello All,
In this forum we most often discuss of hardware and software issues. What about adding some music? Aren't we musicians, after all?
I'm personally very curious to listen to what people do with our instruments. Would you like to share some of your music here?
Thank you!
Paolo

I have bought the pa4x only recently... i play Arrangers because ethey are so versatile... i play almost every western kind of music... from classical to strauss, from jazz to blues, from pop to rock and from dance to schlager and traditionals....
In general i play for my own amusement, with a headset, at home... and dont share what i play... because i deem what i play far from perfect... and since they are covers, there is allways someone that can do better..

I bought my Pa4x in Jun '16 as my Pa3x 76 had already had the contacts replaced after using it 6-7 nights a week for 5 years
I would've bought another 3x if the support for it had continued, but progress is progress
I use mine for entertaining coach parties of holidaymakers.
'Covers' (I hate that explanation) Quicksteps, Foxtrots, waltzes etc
I loved (and still have) my Pa1x-pro
Never got on with my Pa2x
LOVED (and still have) my Pa3x 76
Jury's out on the 4x... I'm not loving the volume knob... 2 or 3 of the (admittedly minor) features dropped, were things I used.
I'll get used to it

I use the 4X several nights every week as a full-time professional entertainer. I play most types of music, but specialize in oldies, 50's, 60's 70's, Standards, Country, R&Roll. 99 percent just playing and singing with styles.

Nice job on those two songs.
In the video, it looks like you are using two of the Bose L1 systems behind you but it seems that you are only using the top sections. Unless you are up on a stage or platform above the power stands I would be interested to know how you achieved this.
Korg PA5X, Kawai MPIISE, Ketron SD4, Roland Integra 7, Motu Audio Express, Cubase 13 Pro, NI Komplete 12 Ultimate (Collectors), Omnisphere, TC-Helicon Voicelive 3, Bose L1m2 (x2) + B2 (x2), Bose S2 Pro.
They were actually two Bose L1 Compacts, using one extension on each side. You can't see the subs. Since then I have changed to using two LD Systems Maui 5s, with the same setup. I like the speakers at ear level, so seldom use both extensions, unless it's a really large venue, or if I'm set up on the floor.Stilli wrote:Hi Don,DonM wrote:I use the 4X several nights every week as a full-time professional entertainer..............

I use my 4X as the main "accompaniment" for my trio - 99% styles, 1% MIDI files.
I use extensively use the "linked-text" files for notes and chords.
I also use the 4X for sequencing and composing.
I occasionally link UPPER 1 to specific Kronos programs and Jupiter-80 programs in STYLE-PLAY mode.
(Anxious to try it with Logic Pro X)
Cheers

My last style demo

Electronic music from Korg arrangers sounds great (my opinion) , but I'm struggling to get satisfied "live band" sound with acoustic drum ... Even with samples, there is no space in the mix for all (Snare got swallowed for example by acc tracks in dense variations, filled with guitars or whatever....) I will post later my latest try to make acoustic drum work healthy with other instruments...

Hi Paolo,
I use my Pa4x in three different ways,
1. To be able to operate as a solo entertainer
2. Working in a Trio with 2 Guitar Players where we all sing
3. In a larger band setting
I use Auto Accompaniments and Midi files in setting one, about 50/50 % mix
In setting 2 we use midi files driving bass and drums with some horns, strings and fairy dust coupled with live playing ( Very Effective )
In setting 3 the Pa4x provides me with a fluid way of working using just one keyboard and setlist works a treat for splits, layers, songs
Here's some stuff I have done with the Pa4x warts and all
