Global mute for preset sounds below split point?

Is there a way to make a global setting so that all factory sounds I choose when playing a midi file have the the sound below the split point muted. I often solo over a midi file using the a trumpet or sax or piano and I often do, out of habit, "play" the chords with my left hand. Many of the presets have string sounds below the split point and I find I have to turn them off as I'm playing live.
Yes, I know it's a little weird that I am laying down the chords below the split point, but want no sound except for those above the split point where I solo.

I realize that I could make custom user presets where the sound below the preset is off but I was wondering if there is a global setting that would help me avoid having to do that.
