Hello
What does the pa600 have that the p300 doesn't have?

Here you can see what Pa300 does not have:
No user PCM memory
No DNC
No Full Sound and Drum kit edit
No real time controls via assignable switches
No assignable switches
310 vs 360 styles (pa600)
1040 vs 1200 user styles
240 vs 320 performances
No pad record
No mp3 vocal remover
5" 480x272 vs 7" 800x480 Touch Display
No line out
No line in
No Midi in/out connectors
13W vs 15W amplifier
No direct AC cord (uses AC adapter brick)
For gigs I would recommend Pa600

Not all of these are right!
It has pcm memory 32mb.
It has full sound and drum kit edit.
I think it has pad record too.
Well in the internal engine there are not a lot of things missing.
It says it doesn't have DNC but actually DNC engine is there, what is missing are the 2 assignable buttons.
The other numbers are just numbers for me (styles/performances/sounds) as i don't think a lot of people need more than 100 of them anyway...
The worse thing about pa300 is the missing midi I/O and seperate L/R audio out but you can use a stereo TRS to 2 TS mono adaptor cable and output the same signal from the pa300 too (it has a parameter in the menu where you select if the port is LINE or HEADPHONES!
Of course the pa600 is better than the pa300 but my opinion is that for its price, the pa300 is unbeatable .

No Midi in/out connectors ??

Post by Blackdolphyn »

Hi, I am thinking which is best to buy, but due to low budget and I don't gig I planned to buy the pa300.
But now I am concerned to learn that the pa300 don't have Midi in/out connectors.
Does this mean I can't connect the pa300 to my PC or iPad?
Currently I am connecting my Yamaha keyboard to my iPad to use various apps e.g. to improve my piano skills, so I was hoping that I could also connect the pa300 to my iPad (via printer cable and Apple camera lightning cable).

So in summary, can I connect the pa300 to my iPad?

Thanks in advance for the answers 😀

Pa300 has no way to work with external midi devices, no midi IN/OUT, no usb host connection.
But check your local dealers, because pa600 just drop down on price.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboard ... r-keyboard
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboard ... y-arranger
means is only 100$ different, so get pa600 and will have a lot more possibility.

There is a USB printer connector by which you can connect to a PC.
I have successfully connected the Pa300 to my PC to try it out in Mixcraft and FL Studio.
I am totally satisfied. I miss AUDIO IN so badly and the dedicated buttons for DNC for sure.
Also You got to carry a few other stuff around like a Mixer, Splitter (TRS to 2xTS OR a TRS Cable) ...
