How to load multiple samples and have them all be accessible

Hi, I have all 6 banks of memory available but I still can't seem to figure out how to load multiple 3 minute samples (KSC files) into memory have them all stay available for multiple programs..
The load from media append never seems to work, it always blows away whatever is already loaded...
