SO is this just me ( i have noticed one or two other comments about this) has the touch velocity settings or touch sensitivity on the keys of the PA4X changed compared to what we have known before V2.0 ??...(Global:Controller - velocity curve?) Or (Keyboard/Ensemble - Note Velocity?)....can this be confirmed?...To me i feel there is a different in response especially when playing piano for instance ....any one else noticed this???

I certainly have. It is more sensitive and my hands don't get so tired when I play for many hours. It makes the pianos sound better (I think). I like the new pianos too. This is a great keyboard.

Hi mstodola, yes the PA4X is certainly a great keyboard, no doubt there and V2 is also a great and welcome effort from korg but if I am honest if there has been a revision? and changes? with regard to the velocity sensitivity (which I am in the process of confirming) then from my personal perpective im not sure i like it and i am finding the opposite to your good self when playing in my usual velocity settings carried over from a pre V2.0 configuration, at the moment I have moved from my normal medium setting (+ & - ) around this medium mark, (not made my mind up here) with velocity Curve settings (with piano specifically in this case, this changes according to different instruments of course) which still feels not quite what I have been use to before V2.0 update, I must admit I thought I was going a little mad and even thought I was dropping off my game some what before one or two others on the forum made the distinction that there may be some differences between pre & post V2.0 in this regard, so I am interesting to see if other PA4X folk out there are finding this possible scenario post V2.0, which I think I really need some confirmation and clarity from korg to help me understand what may or may have not been a intended change in this detail, just to say mstodola please don't feel I'm am knocking your positive experience in this sitting it's just my personal experience which I am struggling a little with at this moment in time....all the best.

I think also to add here if there are plausible reasons for a revision in this regard (velocity curve) and others are finding this a positive experience then I'm not shut off to the idea that this may be just a case that I may need to re calibrate my own brain and playing technique with regard to what others are finding to be a improved situation, so I will endeavour to find out if this is a revision and I think possibly some time and practice from my perspective may improve my personal experience.... so in the meantime I feel a little marathon playing this evening is in order and see if this can improve my personal experience according to others feeling this is a good improvement......

back so soon ......Ok well re-examining mstodole above comment now... so if i drop down to "Velocity curve : Hard 1" (V2) this now feels like "Velocity curve : medium" form older (OS 1.2.4) which now make sense according to the above quote .... this now feels much better for me considering some Confusion....so just to recap my findings here.. my conclusion regarding Velocity Curves settings is ..."medium" (1.2.4) is equivalent to "hard 1" (V2.0) with its physical response which would indicate the menu names with Velocity Curve in (V2.0) have now dropped down by one step to replicate the physical response we have been a custom to from (OS 1.2.4) hope that's not to confusing ! .... so thanks for the input mstodola I am back in my zone as they say, all the best ..

Wooooo, I'm glad you figured it out. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I don't know what change they made. I tried the different settings in previous updates and didn't find anything I liked. It does seem to be different and as I said before, I like it.

Hi Mitch I may of been a little hasty in my summary "i am back in the zone"... I'm a bit perplexed here I thought with my piano presets i did have this covered compared to what we have been use to before (V2)... after this summary and after a quick try with a few other intruments i thought I had this understood.....But then this evening going through my organ settings I am finding very sharp and loud increases in volume with all of the V/C settings except for fixed V/C setting, I know people have agreed there are differences and they feel this is all for the better but I'm not so sure I am liking this at all?....this just seems so different to what we had before (V2) this now feels (Velocity curve V2) is to quick and light and suddenly loud, I don't feel I have the control I once had before (V2)...... I am concerned and confused... i know many are very happy with (V2) in general and so am I and I really love this keyboard as I now have a stable (after nearly 18 months of freezing issues) problem free replacement PA4X which has been great....but this issue is nagging the hell out of me sorry to appear negative and carrying on about this here on the fourm but I am struggling with this change in velocity curve (was this a intentional revision??) that has been noticed here by my self and others.. I don't won't to upset the folk who are happy in this regard that's not my intention, i am just not sure I can live with this change, this is a big worry now as this has completely changed the dynamics of how I play and is really getting in the way........HELP!

Today after enjoying the summer evening sat looking over Poole Harbour with a friend having a drink who is a professional guitarist (who I am lucky to have as musical guru as well as a friend) who helped me build my small studio where the PA4X takes centre stage and as always are conversations will come round to music and gear which lately has been about how very enthusiastic I have been about the PA4X and as ever are discussion always incude a on going joke we have together as he try's to pull my leg as a guitarist about who is the coolest player in a band and i always say "Well Mr Wakeman changed all that" (as I stick up for every keyboard player the world over) then today eventually after discussing the above topic he asked me to show him my issue and at the end of this his comparison I thought was quite apt considering how this is making me feel at the moment, he said...."well its like this then... after playing my Les Paul for over 35 years with 12/50 gauge string and say at a gig one evening at half time the guitar technician for a joke without telling me decides to change the strings over to 8/40 gauge....then we start the second half AND.....hummm....boy you have a problem there" ........I said..."you are not kidding"...put very well I thought.
