Sample Limit 21.8s - how to import larger Samples ?

Post by mambomatze »

Hi all,

just struggling with a sample issue. I am using Vocal Samples very often to create songs. Coming from the Tyros 5 and new to the PA4X i am looking for a solution how to play these large samples.

Importing is limited to 21.8s , which is way to short for these samples i am using.

Possible solution, is there a trick how to play a MP3 using Player 1 AND playing styles at the same time ????

I am not very familiar with the sample import stuff, is there a way to cut and import more smaller samples and put them together so they are played seamless in one shot ???

Appreciate your help, greetings from Germany

Hi Matze,

These can't be individual samples, right? Are you talking about loading audio loops?

Hi Sam,

yes, i am talking about audio loops. Most of them are one large sample, about 2-3min long.

Playing them with the Player and using style playing at once is not working, at least what i tried so far.

Guess i´ll try to split them in smaller ( >21.8s) parts and map them key by key to e.g. one octave and shoot them in this way. So i am also able to sequence it in the PA4X.

thanks

This feature is really meant to be used with short loops...preferably non-pitched drum/Perc type of loops so you can just loop a short segment of them over and over. Pitched audio will also work but if you start using the keyboard this way, you'll run out of memory in no time.

Use an audio editor , split them at useful points you need for your songs , prefer size of <10 sec duration in order to be able to compress
them later and double Ram samples capacity , import all of them in sampler editor , initialize a DK sound , choose start point according to
the split point you want to use your Pa4X keybed and easily create "audio files switches" (with plenty of independent settings) in the order
you want to use them. Then create a KB SET with this DK and done ...

Hope this helps
