Custom Voices & Pa4X

Post by Nev »

Hi Folks, As a newcomer to Korg and this great forum, my tired old eyes have tried looking through the older posts for an answer but I have had to give up and ask the question....

I have several much loved UVN voices used on Yamaha Tyros. Will the Pa4X take these on board? Has it got flash memory? If so how do I install them please.

Fingers crossed.... :D
Neville.

Korg is not compatible with Tyros's voices.

Thanks for replying but I knew the basis of your answer. My question is about UVN third party voices which have wav elements.

Files must be extracted from flash memory , then converted to PCM format and then you have to create
SOUND from scratch in Pa4X !
If you can send these files extracted to us , then we can do the rest job for you in Hire a Sound Developer

Hi Anthony, Thanks for that information. I don`t think I will go to all that trouble. The voices are mostly very good choirs plus one or two instruments but there are good substitutes on the Korg. I accept from your reply that the easy answer is.... No it cannot be done in house simply. I appreciate your time and posting.

Nev,

Chicken Systems Translator 6 should be able to convert these to a KORG format. I think UVM is one of the supported formats which should convert the sounds to .KMP files which the Korg should be able to convert to a multi-sample.

Let me check to see if I have any UVM files I can convert to test this.

HI Nev

I was able to convert a .UVN file to a .WAV, then convert it to a Korg Kronos file with .KMP wave files. So it can be done.

If you would like me to convert your file, send it to me via private messenger.
