New owner - KR Mini drum machine - any expertise here?

Hi, I just got this little KR Mini drum machine to accompany me when the drummer is not available.
It's pretty bare-bones but the "chain" function is okay for stringing patterns together and there is obviously a song function but I cannot see anywhere in the manual where it describes how to actually program songs.
Does anyone here know how to do it?
I did try searching this site but came up with no references to the KR Mini at all.
Is there any further documentation on this unit besides the official owners manual?
