Korg PA 1000 - Legacy sounds

Post by wdsgrafton »

Simple question, but hard to get an answer - how does one get access to the Legacy sounds - the tab does not show up on the screen.

Welcome aboard.

This might get a better response if posted in the PA1000/PA700 section of the forum.

Can not believe this. I do not own a Pa1000, but manual (Page 143) says "To choose one of the available types of Sound, touch the buttons at the top of the window".

Types of are: Factory, Legacy, GM/XG and User - some models could include Local type Sounds.

Looking to appendix of musical resources for example there are Pianos: 29 x Factory, 12 x Legacy, 63 x GM/XG and all these pianos should be chosen over
Type of Sound / Group of Sound (Piano) / Available Page / Sound you want to choose.

If the Legacy Group of Pa1000 really can not be selected, then it surprised me that this was not claimed by any Pa1000 user!
kind regards

Legacy sounds on PA 1000

Post by wdsgrafton »

Thanks everyone - The only way I found to go to legacy sounds is to go to a set and find a sound that is legacy and click it....then the legacy tap shows up and can scroll the bank of sounds...once I go out back to the set or to the normal screen, the tab disappears....it is odd

Most of the people here say go to the tab and select it... But the tab IS NOT THERE guys! There is only "factory" -"user"- "direct" and only "factory" is accessible. In the demo video, his PA1000 has a "legacy" tab... Mine doesn't!

I think it does, but seems to be you do not work in sound select mode but you selected a direct folder or you selected the Keyboard Set Library, where you can not find Legacy Sounds.

Do not choose Keyboard Set from the library (that is a collection of sounds) but in StylePlay or SongPlay look to the Main Display - touch one of the sounds of a track (Upper or Lower section) to change/choose that single sound of the selected track. Now soundmenue will be opened, where you can select single sounds of all groups (factory, legacy ...).
kind regards

Thank you my friend! I found them exactly the way you described, directly from the main screen, after touching the instrument name. I was using the keypad to select an instrument and -if I do this- legacy disappears, I do not know why! A software flaw or the brilliant mind of the designer... Finally I am able to play some decent instruments, I 've been fighting DNC till now... :) Thanks again!
