Factory Reset - shut down?!?
Hello guys.
I tried some new styles and sounds. Wanted to revert to factory restore and then reupload my SET.
While the keyboard was restoring, a power outage shut it down.
After restarting, sceen remains black.
Tried to insert a stick with the operation system. Tried all versions of it, older and the latest, and still nothing.
Black screen.
Is there anything I could do, or I have to go to the KORG service?
Thanks

My worst keyboard nightmare - power outage whilst updating!!!
Sorry if this is a silly question but I am hoping you are holding down the INTRO-1 button down whilst powering ON.
So you're saying that when you do this you do not get the calibration screen? - just blank?
Korg service centre might be your next best option.
Good luck
Pete

Yet another reason to power your Pa4x with a UPS
Yamaha S90ES, Korg Triton Pro, EXB Moss, Roland XV5080, Korg EX8000, Korg Pa4x 76, Korg Kronos 88, Crumar MOJO, Logic Pro X, V Collection, Novation SL61,Vienna, Korg Pa4x , EC-5, Vienna, Arturia V Collection, Roland SC88 Pro, Roland D110, Alesis SR16, Alesis D4
insane
keyboard is just a computer with keys
when my home computer goes out when updateing ,, you can start over or just reformat ... and install the os again , yes it a pain but you can get back on line ..
i think if you have a os with format in it , this might work ..
what do you think..

It's exactly as Pete mentioned ...karmathanever wrote:- you are holding down the INTRO-1 button down whilst powering ON.

If updating mode do not respond , then run to official Korg Service of your provider , Bios is corrupted and probably mobo needs replacement !
I will repeat it once more ... Never Update keyboard OS without the support of an elementary UPS , for the rest cases never care !
Nope ... your PC writes OS exclusively on SSD ,duby2 wrote:keyboard is just a computer with keys

PaSeries Linux based ARM systems , write directly in mobo flash Ram where also bios is written and power supply interruption while in writing
mode , will corrupt all !

Learned my lesson.
Of course I tried reinstalling every version of OS availlable. Calibrating screen appears, everything seems normal untill the actual updating comes on: System Failure! Please turn off!
Tomorrow I am taking my pa4x to service.
Now....I always save a set for every change I make, but I was keeping everything on the HD. I really hope I do not loose that backup, because I have worked so much on customising styles and the songbook, I would be lost if I have to take it from scratch.
Lessons learned:
1. Do not update without an upc
2. Save a backup on a usb stick
I will let you know how it plays out tomorrow

- As first do not worry about internal HD and your kept files there , nothing has been changed or destroyed , this concerns only motherboardReidoo wrote:Now....I always save a set for every change I make, but I was keeping everything on the HD. I really hope I do not loose

memory , and nobody has to deal with this internal HD !
- If you could reach update menu & bios , then system damage is easily recoverable by a utility that Korg service owns , so it's a matter of some
minutes to make it in order again ...
