Almost 30 new styles. 4 Free Styles without drums and precussion!

They say you can go back to OS v2.x, but waiting for a few people to try it first before loading...

Also, can someone try restoring a backup file (.BKP) made from OS 2.x onto a keyboard running OS 3.x to see if it works (or what happens)?

Also curious if a keyboard is updated with current data, if it will keep anything after the update, but the upgrade manual says to run a factory restore anyway...

I would like to try it, because I fortunately have two PA4X Musikant , but in the moment there is no way to load the support site, maybe overcrowded or shutdown.

We have 6 Free Styles (not 4 as I mentioned above)
FS = Free Styles that is, with no drums and percussion, leaving you free to create your own tempo.

Perfect and perfect. i rested now, working without problem. 6 User sound page, 3 user dk page are very very good. New style's are super. i am fan of Korg original styles. Thanks Korg. Happy NEXT all to you

Thanks for all that information but when I update to 3Next where will the new styles appear (User? Factory?). I am concerned about automatically overwriting any that may already be in the 30 slots.....

Users that are working/performing with complex custom sounds resources , might be wiser to wait for a while for more reviews , or at least
to have some days available before next gigging , 'cause if samples conversion fails then they have to reload V.2 resources first in order
to downgrade to previous working state of OS v.2.
Final test will be valid only on next Pa4X restarting after OS v.3 upgrading !

Part of the styles appear in Favorite/Pop and Favorite/ballad sections.
Rest of them can be found in appropriate categories: Latin Dance (1), Movie & Show (10) and Funk & Blues (2)

Somehow Korg was given up to user demand and released the OS prematurely with lots of bugs however i expect a new OS will be released in a month or even before to fix the issues and bugs reported.

So far from my observation looks good but have issues especially regarding samples from protected and unprotected resources somehow they LOAD correctly but when turned OFF and ON they go missing lots of them, have to be LOADED again. The only solution at the moment LOAD each time you turn ON.

I have noticed as well on the SOUND mode when you try to change the OSC Volume LEVEL it does not work. When it works it changes the volume LEVEL for all the OSC'S 1,2,3,ETC.

They manage to put more 2 extra BANKS on the USER SOUND and 1 more DRUM KIT but somehow the forget to put at least 1 extra bank for USER STYLES or at least increase the page number.

I love the colours looks very professional and i like the way they are going with the new OS but its far from finished and bugs free. Hope they will fix them soon and will have a great working OS finally for the PA4X.

Will try tonight to GIG with it and see how it goes will keep you up to date for any new issues but to be safe I don't recommend it and if you have very complex SET's and samples better stay with the old OS for the moment.

So, after the first look.

Installing was no problem,
before doing that, a SAVE ALL (incl. unlocked Factory) is strongly recommended.

After the Update and reload of my "saved ALL SET" I wanted to load an entry from a stored setlist ... and ... got a shutdown. First, I didn't know why, then I realized that my USB stick with a lot of direct settings wasn't implemented correct. But I think, this should invoke an error message and not a shutdown. After reinstalling the USB stick evrythings workd fine, until I tried to load the SET folder which is deliverd with the update.

Trying to load the complete SET folder made the second shutdown.
After restarting I could load the keyboard sets and the new user styles after opening the SET folders. Maybe this was my mistake.

Now (for approx. 2 hours) evrything works fine.
The new styles are excellent, the new GUI isn't really a step forward as they advertise it. I think, they could save memory by reducing the colours and the resolution of the instrument icons. But in general, its ok, and I don't suffer about it.

Regarding the samples, all my user samples and multisamples were ok without any issue, but I use only a few and cannot judge about it.

So, the next days and weeks will show, how stable the new OS works. My second PA4X will stay an 2.2 for a while.

@KORG: Great thanks for your work and for upgrading this great instrument.
If I (like many others) could have a wish come true, please reinstall the possibility to save Voice presets and styles to the KeybSets, like it was before Ver. 1.2 ... and ...

keep on working on THIS instrument.

Great news! I am still running 2.0 OS, I never get to update to 2.2 OS.
My question is: do I have to update to 2.2 OS before I go ahead und install
Pa4x Next 3.0?
